Story
Most of us know we own too much stuff. We feel the weight and burden of our clutter, and we tire of cleaning and managing and organizing. While excess consumption leads to bigger houses, faster cars, fancier technology, and cluttered homes, it never brings happiness. Rather, it results in a desire for more. It redirects our greatest passions to things that can never fulfill, and it distracts us from the very lives we wish we were living. But it doesn't have to be this way.

Andrew Mellen meets Mari Kondo
This book exceeded my expectations! I have been decluttering and minimizing after reading Mari Kondo’s book. Then, room by room using Joshua Becker’s method. Then, I organized using Andrew Mellen’s suggestions.
Finally I decided to just give this one a listen JUST because it’s a cute short book (under 3 hours) and OMG! I had never heard of this author but she is wonderful. Her androgynous style of writing and narration, the way she combines the whole business of the universe and energy flow with VERY practical resources of which websites to go to, to list and sell my stuff will actually help me with that last final decluttering of expensive/valuable things that I’m still simply holding on to because they have financial value and until now I just didn’t know HOW to sell them! Thank you Kerri Richardson! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Kerri is so enjoyable
First I get Karri's emails and have throughly enjoyed her tips and her voice. She has an option to listen to her emails verse reading, so narrating her own book was no surprise. Her voice carries well through the sounds of children and washing dishes. Her book is practical and kind. She offers simple questions to why one is keeping something or avoiding going through stuff; questions we simply forget to ask ourselves when we are frustrated and overloaded. Then she offers practical advice and tips to get rid of the stuff taking care to acknowledge that many of us do not want to simply throw it away. I'm a daughter to a hoarder, a mother of 5 little ones, trouble with boundries, trouble saying no, lots to do, and too much stuff! I've been implementing Kerri's thoughts here and there as I face my troubles over the last couple years. This book is a handy reference.
Also Kerri talks about the energy of ourselves and our space. this might bother some. Our mentally, our atmospheres, our habitats, all effect our ability to love and do things. Too much stuff and too much to do and avoiding things makes us all grumpy no matter your core belief.
My favorite Kerri question I have on a note I see everyday: what will you do the day you need it and do not have it?

THE only one you need/only good organizing book out there
This is my fifth book of this type and WOW this is the first time it’s actually hit home. Her simple style, honest and straightforward advice, and how REALISTIC the methods—along with ACTUAL CLEARLY IDENTIFIED RESOURCES instead of abstract or buried how-to’s—blew me away. So glad I took a chance on Richardson’s book. Relatable, inspiring, and (it sounds corny but I mean it) life-changing. I was able to downsize from 1050sq/ft to a 13x11 room allowing my energy to be freed up and emotional baggage to drain away. My life is so much better because of this book and I can’t express my gratitude or recommendations enough.

Must read if you want to understand the root of clutter.
This book was SO good. I’ve been dealing with clutter for many years and after many failed attempts went to hypnosis last year for a few rounds. It definitely helped but with this book it gives it to your conscious not just subconscious. I learned a ton and loved all of the actionable tips and resources. The author has a no-nonsense approach and at some point I would love to hire her personally because of her intuitive and upfront demeanor. Perfect mix of logic and soul stuff.

One of the better declutter books
One star knocked off for performance only. Her pacing in general was perfect but she should slow down a little to space the chapters and questions presented at different times throughout the book. She is easy to understand in both her presentation and what she is saying. Her real life examples are succinct and contribute well to the points she is making without my wanting her to get on with it.

This book is excellent on multiple levels.
Yes it gives practical advice and shares methods to assist with decluttering but even more importantly, it explains why we hang onto things, relationships, , thoughts and memories that no longer necessarily serve us.
