Publisher's summary

Fans of The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices know that Magnus Bane is banned from Peru—and now they can find out why. One of 10 adventures in The Bane Chronicles.

There are good reasons Peru is off-limits to Magnus Bane. Follow Magnus’s Peruvian escapades as he drags his fellow warlocks Ragnor Fell and Catarina Loss into trouble, learns several instruments (which he plays shockingly), dances (which he does shockingly), and disgraces his host nation by doing something unspeakable to the Nazca Lines.

This standalone short story illuminates the life of the enigmatic Magnus Bane, whose alluring personality populates the pages of the number-one New York Times best-selling series The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices. This story in The Bane Chronicles, What Really Happened in Peru, is written by Cassandra Clare and Sarah Rees Brennan.

This is such a fun and whimsical book. One of my favorite in the series about magnus. Really shows his personality.

Entertaining

I am new to this series, having read only The City of Bones so far. I am listening to these short stories and enjoying them a lot. I like Magnus and enjoy learning more about him.

Not Interesting at all

Let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of Cassandra Clare's books. With this book however, I was deeply disappointed. It read like a diary thru the years of Magnus Bane's life and travels in Peru, which would have been fine, except that it was utterly boring. I found that I couldn't connect to these characters enough to care about their adventures. Secondly, the book was so short, that I feel it was a ripoff at the price I paid. It isn't likely that I will purchase the other books in this series.

Not the level I was expecting

Having read the Mortal Instruments and Magus being a favorite character, I was expecting something more, a higher quality then we got in this mini book. First note it is a mini book right at an hour. The interaction between the characters seemed forced, the stories told seem half formed thoughts nothing perused in depth. Magus temperament was fairly dead on. the voice of the narrator did not really fit what I imagine Magus would sound like, but that the narration was still good.

Its okay and worth the 2 ish dollars, certainly not worth a credit. Over all sum up I expected better from Cassandra Clare especially for this particular character.

Little audiobook answer some but little answers.

Well, we still don't know what really happen in Peru. Just that the circle did banished him, but not for what is in this audiobook.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Magnus is my favourite character in this story. I like the character since the very 1st book of the series. He is mysterious and good in his own way.

Which scene was your favorite?

When his last love boyfriend told him to leave as he cannot spend his life with Magnus.

Was What Really Happened in Peru worth the listening time?

I guess so, it is so short and over packed with stories, but only the surface stories.

So fun, Loved It!

I loved this book. Jesse Williams did a wonderful job narrating. The flow and the tone is just how I imagined Magnus Bane would be. Very entertaining, I would love to see more stories of Magnus Bane, especially if Jesse Williams would be the narrator.

Eh...? It's ok.

Performance: Perfect. I love this character from the book series a great deal. The readers never make him flaming gay which is a relief. Just because a guy is gay does not mean he must talk like a woman. Ya know. This is a many and powerful bisexual man character.

Story: It's ok. It's about Magnus so it's cool but it never gives you the answer to what you think your going to learn here. Its a few good stories of the trouble he get into while in Peru. But not the reason he was banned from the place.

Kinda Disappointing

I love hearing Magnus's stories, but the final story of how he gets kick out is so short and and lacking detail. The book overall is hilarious and worth the read, but I was kinda Disappointed when it finally got to the end and he was banned from Peru.
