Publisher's summary

How will our children cope with the outside world? This may possibly be a parent's most pondered question. As parents, we try to teach our kids "as much as humanly possible, while they are yet living under our watchful care. When our children become adults and leave the security and comfort of our nests - life will undoubtedly continue the lessons".

What I Want My Child to Know...: A Mother's Loving Advice was written with young adults in mind - to help facilitate a healthy understanding and subsequent avoidance of the pitfalls associated with the life learning process. It strives to enhance our children's own self-awareness of specific issues and encourage them to move beyond those issues and closer to the life they deserve.

D. Linn Whorley poignantly provides candid lifelong lessons and advice for young adults as they move toward the next chapters of their lives, beyond high school and closer to fulfilling the life they deserve.

As a mother of two young adults, the author fulfills the need to enhance her youngest child's own self-awareness of the potential issues associated with everyday adult life, after he left the nest for a newly appointed military career.

"These pages were born out of a concern for my child and his well-being after he left the comfort and security of our home; as a sort of handy reference guide to accompany and help him address and move beyond the issues associated with living everyday life. As I began writing, it became not only my desire to help my son, but also to help ALL children, one child at a time. If this work can help at least one person, I will have accomplished my goal. This book is a must have for every young adult, covering various topics from self-respect to relationships, as well as marriage and finances, safety, health and well-being and much more." (D. Linn Whorley)

Great listen!!

I got this book in paperback for my high school senior a while back. He’s now in his 4th year of college and he still has the book! He thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m thrilled to have it in my Audible collection. The author’s voice is pleasant and the content is wonderful!
