Publisher's summary

"The audiobook is a classic example of a well-paced, intriguing thriller that is truly enhanced by excellent narration."—AudioFile

This is a multicast program.

In this “top-notch mystery thriller” (Publishers Weekly, starred review) from Alex Finlay, What Have We Done is a tale about the lives we leave behind and the secrets we carry with us forever.

One of the Most Anticipated Books of 2023:• BookPage • BookBub • E! News • Go BookMart • Goodreads • PopSugar • The Every Girl • She Reads • Beyond the Bookends

A stay-at-home mom with a past.

A has-been rock star with a habit.

A reality TV producer with a debt.

Three disparate lives.

One deadly secret.

Twenty five years ago, Jenna, Donnie, and Nico were the best of friends, having forged a bond through the abuse and neglect they endured as residents of Savior House, a group home for parentless teens. When the home was shut down—after the disappearance of several kids—the three were split up.

Though the trauma of their childhood has never left them, each went on to live accomplished—if troubled—lives. They haven’t seen one another since they were teens but now are reunited for a single haunting reason: someone is trying to kill them.

To survive, the group will have to revisit the nightmares of their childhoods and confront their shared past—a past that holds the secret to why someone wants them dead.

It’s a reunion none of them asked for . . . or wanted. But it may be the only way to save all their lives.

What Have We Done is both an edge-of-your-seat thriller and a gut-wrenching coming-of-age story. And it cements Alex Finlay as one of the new leading voices in thrillers today.

Negative reviews? Why?

This book was pretty much exactly what I expected from Finlay. I liked all the characters (except the twins. I thought they were annoying and unimaginative as villains...) and I thought the twist was pretty good! The author gave just enough clues and hints for me to figure out who the killer was at the right time.

I got no complaints.

My favorite author

I read no less than 100 books per year, 88 percent of those are mystery/thrillers. So upon reading Finland first novel and rating it 5 stars, I knew he would be a writer to watch out for, his second novel I read, five stars. This one, five stars. He is officially my favorite author. Something about the characters in each book, and how the story develops in a way like a young Stephen king. Alex Finlay is a phenomenal author!

Another great story from Finlay

I just wish he would write them faster! He’s up there with Harlan Coben, Mike Omer and Peter Swanson now!

Alex Finlay does it again!

Love everything by Alex Finlay. Great story, great narration, superb reveals (yes, plural) at the end. His location descriptions of Washington, DC and surrounding areas are spot on accurate - as I was listening, I knew exactly the place he was describing and could see it all unfolding. Another reviewer said they wished he could make new stories faster - I feel the exact same way. Keep it up, Mr Finlay - can’t wait for your next release!
