Publisher's summary

Olivia Bevelstroke, the only daughter of the Earl of Rudland, is beautiful and has a sizeable dowry. Yet at the age of 21 she is still unmarried, causing people to whisper behind her back, 'What is she waiting for? A prince?' But Olivia isn't cold or stuck up and neither is she a hopeless romantic. She's just waiting for something - or someone.

Sir Harry Valentine, a war veteran, is now back in London working in secret for the War Office and keeping an eye on his wayward younger brother. Rumour has it that he killed his fiancée, which intrigues Olivia. She thinks her new next-door neighbour looks the part, and even if he isn't a murderer, he's certainly up to something.

Then a real live Russian prince comes to town, sparking intrigue. He has his eye on Olivia, but so does Harry, who's been ordered to spy on the prince - and thus, by extension, Olivia. But will what he finds out about her bring her closer to his heart?

Silly

It started off quite well and was quite funny in places but unfortunately deteriorated into silliness. The narrator was very good.

Charming

I felt like this book took a little bit longer to get into than the others, but ended up being as charming as all of the Aurora other novels.

Hilarious!

Fantastic narration by Landor (Russian accents?!) and at times an extremely funny love story between Harry and Olivia. I think this may be my favourite Quinn novel yet!

An Enjoyable Historical Romance

I really enjoyed listening to this story. The nods to other books in Julia Quinn's series are always welcome and when added with a fresh new series, this is a fabulous combination.
Rosalyn once again delivers an outstanding performance and really does the story and characters justice

Gripping

This became more and more gripping as the plot opened up. Very entertaining, it was most beneficial having an outline of the main characters family history. I shall read again.

Could be better

It was entertaining and well-read. I liked Harry and found Olivia poorly written. She was some strange mix between tstl and being called intelligent several times.
