Publisher's summary

Private First Class Aiden Kaas has enlisted in the Marines for all the wrong reasons. Now deployed to Iraq at the age of 19, he just wants to put in his time and serve out his enlistment. However, after being bitten by a seemingly rabid mujahideen, he finds himself suffering from a strange illness, one with consequences beyond his wildest imaginings. As the disease ravages his body and exposes him to dangers far darker than active combat, Aiden discovers what it means to come of age, and how he must come to grips with what it is he has become.

Great Book Horrible Narration

I had read these books before and since I’m canceling my Audible account and had three credits to spend I thought I’d get this series. Huge mistake. The story itself is great and I’m a big fan of fellow COS Marine Jonathan Brazee but this was the most underwhelming performance in an audiobook I’ve ever heard. It was just poor. Lots of static and white noise in the background, echos, the editing was poor etc. just all around an amateur performance. Hope Mr. Brazee didn’t pay too much for this.

Good story, bad quality recording

The story was interesting and entertaining. The main character Aiden is a typical young Marine, young and dumb. the narration sounds like some geuff, old southern guy was sitting in his kitchen reading reading the boo into a tape recorder while wearing a white tank top and suspenders.

not great but not bad

To start of I own all the books and Audible books in this series.
I was disappointed with John R. Bedingfield Jr. at times he narrated the story quite well. Then shift into a weird exclamatory style that just sounded false.
Storyline good in all three books. I really enjoyed my kindle books.
The Audible are just ok.
