The Office gets political?

The first few seasons of The Office were great so I thought this would be a fun read. However, the multitude of references to his "beloved" Obama, attack on conservatives and liberal slant ruined this for me. The Office wasn't political, so why is a book about The Office political? I do not recommend this at all.

like the podcast

If you've listened to Brian's podcast you may want to skip the book. it's basically just that. But I love and enjoy the office so much I wanted to own a copy. The performers also kind of throw you off. They are reading for the actors and after introducing them the first time they don't tell you who is talking. I know the show so well that I could figure it out but it may really confuse some people. End of the day I enjoyed it and would recommend it. Or you could listen to the podcast for free. Your choice.

Need the actor voices

This audiobook is too hard to follow.
I got through 4 chapters - every actor is being read by someone else and you can’t tell who’s speaking

Photos?

The book advertises 100 behind the scenes photos, the pdf only lists the episode titles per season, why can’t we see photos?

Great Story

If you have listened to Brian's podcast you may want to skip this. It is a collection of those interviews read by other people, which can get a little confusing to listen to.

I am a huge office fan so I really just wanted to get all the information in a cohesive order. This book held its own in that aspect.

If you have never listened to The Office Deep Dive with Brian Baumgartner podcast you should!

Good content, hard to follow

I liked the approach of first-hand narratives. However, it became soooo confusing at times who was who since there were so many different voices reading on behalf of other people. Very difficult to keep straight. I feel like I’d be better off just listening to all Brian’s podcast episodes again. I’m not sure there’s any new info in this book.

Great story, confusing narration

I’m a huge fan of The Office, so naturally this book intrigued me. I loved the story, but the narration was hard to follow. I’m sure if I had actually read the book instead of listening to it, I wouldn’t have had any question about who was saying what, but since different people were reading for the actors, it was hard to know who the person was that was speaking. Overall though, loved the story and loved hearing interesting facts about my favorite show!

Probably entertaining but too hard to follow.

I couldn’t get more than a couple chapters into this because they do not have actual actors voices. That would be ok if they would just tell you who is talking each time it changes voices.(like many other audiobooks do)

Beautiful and not ordinary

This was such a fun trip along the story of The Office! It would've been truly great if we had the actual people reading their parts, but that's probably asking a lot. As it stood, it was sometimes a little hard figuring out who was supposed to be speaking, but still very interesting nonetheless. Very well produced and a strong recommend to all Office fans!

A must for every devoted fan of The Office

While the stories contained in this book come directly from Brian Baumgartner’s oral history of the office and Office deep dive podcast, I still loved listening to every second.

Podcast Remastered

This is essentially the podcast but in chronological order. The big difference is actors are reading lines of the cast and crew. Good content but would be 5 stars if the original audio was used.

An Interesting Insight

I thought it was a really interesting insight into the series and behind the scenes stories. At times funny, at times moving, just like the show. I found it really easy to listen to and flew through it really quickly. It was a shame that the cast were not voiced by themselves but the actors did a good enough job.

Podcast is Better

I was really looking forward to this release and it disappointed.

Having voice actors read the interviews of the cast seemed a sellout to me, particularly as you can listen to similar interviews, with the real cast for FREE.

The story is incredibly interesting if you are an Office fan but I would just stick to Brian’s excellent podcast.

A real shame.
