Billionaire businessman in need of a fake fiancée...

It should be the easiest job ever for an out-of-work actress, right?

All I have to do is pose as Grant Caldwell (the Third)’s fiancée for a fancy-pants weekend in the Hamptons. Easy. Wear designer clothing and sip champagne? Don’t mind if I do. Flirting with Grant? It’s so delicious I should be paying him.

Nothing can go wrong as long as I can keep my hands off of him.

But that’s the hard part. And I do mean hard.

Because Grant is sexy. And bossy. And surprisingly sweet, a real rarity in his pretentious family.

Oops. I’m not as good at faking it as I thought. Or maybe they call this method acting. Because it’s getting harder to figure out where my character ends and I begin....

It just might be the role of a lifetime.

Weekend Wife is a stand-alone romantic comedy with a sexy billionaire, a sassy heroine, and a happily ever after.

4.25 Stars!

Being new to Ms.McCarthy's work i've been wanting to pick up her books for quite some time now! As soon as this audiobook was announced i was so excited for it! I knew i had to get into it first. I started listening to it as soon as i could and got right into the Sassy in The City world! I really enjoyed this story so much!!

Being new to both Laura English and Gavin McAllister i couldn't wait to listen to their narration! These two absolutely pulled me in with their narration! These two were so awesome! I so enjoyed what they brought to the story and to the characters of Leah and Grant! These two kept making me smile throughout with their voices.

Leah and Grant's journey captured my full attention right from the get go! These two are brought into each other lives when Grant comes in for pancakes every so often at Leah's job. When he asks her to be his fake fiancée, i couldn't wait to see how everything would play out for them.

I was so glad that i got to dig into both of their minds. I really liked getting to see how these two would tackle things, especially their feelings. The chemistry between them was heat filled goodness! Their banter was so great and had me laughing as well! I loved how i felt so many things throughout with these two!

With Weekend Wife, Ms.McCarthy has created such a great and entertaining journey! From the story to the narration, this listen sure was a day brightener! I can't wait to pick up more from this author, especially the Sassy in the City books! I am so looking forward to listening to more of Laura's and Gavin's narration in the future as well!

Cute, funny with a just the right amount of spice

Ok so this is a new to me author..... and it was a super cute story. I really liked the characters. I thought that Leah was fan-freaking-tastic! I absolutely adored her! Grant didn't have the greatest example of how a marriage is supposed to work. So he is not at all interested in committing to any woman..... until he met Leah! She was his perfect match! His parents were insane! Really his whole freaking family was! The time they spent with his family was the funniest part. So glad I am not marrying into that family. The narration was ok.... there wasn't anything really wrong with it... but there were just some parts that didn't feel like they were flowing real well.... and while reading text messages, Laura English kind of sounded robotic.

Going on my favorites!! A True Rom Com!

What a GREAT story! I loved it because it is a true Rom Com and made me laugh and chuckle. The characters (a sexy Billionaire and Sassy gal) are deep and their banter is irresistible! I enjoyed watching them come together! They each have their quirks that play out throughout the whole book! I want to be their best friends because they are so cute together. There are a lot of secondary character in here that deserve mention and really add to the storyline. Let’s just say Grant has one extraordinary family.

I did listen to this on audio. Laura English and Gavin McAllister are the narrators. They are both new to me and did a wonderful job. I see this is a series and I look forward to more!

A Wonderfully Delightful RomCom & Listen🎧

This enjoyable and fabulously delightful romantic comedy drew me in, grabbed my attention immediately and captivated it the entire book. I adored the two lead characters, Grant Caldwell the third and Leah Romano, Leah has had a crush on Grant who has been coming into the diner where she works once a week for the past six months, but he is not very amicable. Going there and ordering the pancakes was nostalgic for him, a way to remember his favorite person growing up, his nanny. Leah became another reason he went there, but he did not think she was interested in him, and he decided this would be his last visit there and tipped Leah generously as a goodbye. Leah thought he made a mistake and ran to catch up with him and wound up spraining her ankle. Grant gets her home and takes care of her and makes sure she elevates her hurt ankle in some of the steamiest of ways. Grant is anti-relationship and Leah needs to focus on getting her acting career off the ground, so they agree that would be it for them, despite the chemistry between them. When Grant’s family gives him an ultimatum, he must find a girlfriend to take to his parent’s anniversary celebration in the Hamptons and after contemplating what to do he comes up with a solution, he will hire an actress to be his pretend girlfriend for the weekend. He just knows the perfect person, an actress who could use the job. Leah accepts with some reluctance and adds her own rules to the contract, which Grant agrees to, but there is more brewing between these two they then like to admit there is. This beautifully written and plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. The shenanigans, witty banter, and dialogue are absolutely brilliant and lots of fun, and will definitely put a smile on your face. Erin McCarthy, thank you for this wonderful story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Laura English and Gavin McAllister did an awesome job bringing these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit the character’s persona perfectly, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Laura English nailed it as Leah, grasps her bubbly personality and her determination and strength. Gavin McAllister’s Grant was spot on too, a straitlaced, all business alpha who gradually thaws throughout. Both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. They set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor effortlessly. These talented and versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this fabulous listen.

Weekend Wife

This is the first book in the Sassy in the City series. This was a really cute and hilarious Rom-Com. Grant and Leah couldn’t be more different then each other. This book had a very Pretty Woman vibe with a twist ending. I really loved how it ended. Laura English and Gavin McAllister did a fantastic job narrating this book.

Irresistible. Unpredictable. Combustible.

McCarthy is at her best when she's at her most ironic. Weekend Wife is a tribute to her sassy sense of humor. Grant and Leah are irresistible, unpredictable, combustible, unstoppable chaos. Each knows where they want to be, but have a hard time getting to where they need to go. What ensues is an over thought, under executed plan that proves destined to be a disaster. Or will it end up changing their topsy-turvy lives for the better? The beauty of an Erin McCarthy story is her ability to find perfection in a less than ideal situation. That's a quality that never gets old.

Sweet and Funny Romance!

This is the first book in the Sassy in the City series. This is a great start to the series. I loved Grant and Leah's story. Leah is such a beautiful character, colorful, feisty, and smart. Grant is very handsome, and supportive. The story is sweet, sexy, and funny. The supporting characters are interesting. This is a great fake Fiancée Romantic Comedy. Laura English and Gavin McAllister did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. #TheFlock
