Publisher's Summary

The greatest threat to humanity might be one of their own.

Eve has responsibilities now. As chairwoman of the Human Welfare Committee, she is humanity's voice in a world run by robots. Her job includes approving geneticists who want to engage in ethical human cloning as well as overseeing the agency that hunts down threats to mankind. So when one of her sisters vanishes, Eve can't afford to abandon her post to personally search.

Eve's agents hunt for her missing sister, but in the process, they run afoul of some influential robots. Their brutish, invasive interviews, veiled threats, and hacking threaten to bring down the wrath of more powerful committees, potentially shutting down the entire Human Protection Agency.

With her agents pulled out of the field, Eve faces a crisis. Can she follow the rules of a robotic world, even if it might cost her sister's life?

Includes a special bonus note read by the author.

Great continueation

This book was provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

This was book three of the series. It was filled with surprises as Eve, Plato, and Charlie 7 continued to track down the upload cabal and to improve the lives of the new humans.

There were many mistakes and some real surprises. There was a ramping up of tension between the humans and the robots as the team tried to investigate the unlawful activities and the robots wanted complete privacy.

There also was a great deal of resentment from the robots when humans were in fact present even though they had been planning for them for 1000 years.

The narrator did a terrific job and the story was well knit. The humans even developed more maturity and began to take responsibility for their own actions.

Great 3rd book in the series.

I love the intent of this book. The idea of humans developing robots, which survive mankind's self-destruction, then cloning humans to re-populate the world. Of course, things do not just fall into place....thus the plot! I fully recommend this book/series. Now for the obligatory: "I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

Solid story - Left wanting more!

The final book of the series is not a conclusion, leaving the door wide open for more.

I would have very much liked the primary villain in the trilogy to have been wrapped up - but feel left hanging instead.

Still hooked! Don't think I can wait to listen!

Just like book 1 and 2, I'm thoroughly hooked now! This is a great continuation of the previous two books so if you enjoyed those you'll love this one too. The biggest disappointment is that I've caught up to the (currently) published Audible productions and have now noticed that there are 3 more in this series available on the Kindle store... Unfortunately, I don't think I can wait and may have to jump ahead to start reading these!

One thing I really liked about this book is that it really emphasized the point that people (human and robot!) have flaws. I felt that the characters in this story are wonderfully crafted to be likable (or not) and even the 'bad' character's points of view were well justified. This book let us see a little deeper into the new world and also teased at more extremely interesting things we might hopefully get to experience in future books (Mars?!).

My favorite character(s) this book? Any and all Charlies! What a guy (and/or robot)!

Unexpectedly, narration by Paul Michael Garcia was a home run. I can only hope that Paul will be the one to narrate all future books in this series!
