I definitely understand where this is coming from, however I think this episode fails to acknowledge intellectual disability and although it briefly touches on privilege it glosses over the challenges of the nurture aspect of existence and growing up. Normally I don’t comment on things but being a mother of a child who has a disability that very well could effect him intellectually it made me feel frustrated. His reality looks different than what is described. Some people don’t have the cognition for the perspective and growth expressed so the generalization frustrated me. Maybe I’m being too sensitive and triggered... but through entering the special needs mom world my perspective has greatly changed.

Privilege and ableism
