We Can Do Hard Things

By: Glennon Doyle and Audacy
  • Summary

  • Life is freaking hard. We are all doing hard things every single day – things like loving and losing; caring for children and parents; forging and ending friendships; battling addiction, illness, and loneliness; struggling in our jobs, our marriages, and our divorces; setting boundaries; and fighting for equality, purpose, freedom, joy, and peace. On We Can Do Hard Things, Glennon Doyle, author of UNTAMED; her wife Abby Wambach; and her sister Amanda Doyle do the only thing they’ve found that has ever made life easier: Drop the fake and talk honestly about the hard things including sex, gender, parenting, blended families, bodies, anxiety, addiction, justice, boundaries, fun, quitting, overwhelm . . . all of it. We laugh and cry and help each other carry the hard so we can all live a little bit lighter and braver, free-er, less alone.

  • Dr. Christine Blasey Ford: 6 Years Since Her Kavanaugh Testimony
    Sep 25 2024
Do you remember where you were? On September 27, 2018, as Dr. Christine Blasey Ford raised her right hand and testified in the hearings of Brett Kavanaugh—who would go on to be confirmed to a lifetime appointment on the highest court in the nation. This week marks six years since we were eyewitnesses to her historic, courageous patriotism. In honor of her bravery and resolve, today we reshare our powerful conversation with Dr. Christine Blasey Ford—about the heartbreak, and hope, of being an American woman. About Dr. Ford: Dr. Christine Blasey Ford is a professor of psychology at Palo Alto University and a clinical professor and consulting biostatistician at the Stanford University School of Medicine. On September 27, 2018, Dr. Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding her sexual assault in connection with the Committee’s consideration of Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s lifetime confirmation to the United States Supreme Court. Following her testimony, Ford and her family endured constant intimidation, harassment, and death threats forcing them to move out of their home, living in various secure locales with guards. In 2019, she was named one of the 100 most influential people in Time 100. Dr. Ford’s memoir, ONE WAY BACK, is available now. A must listen for everyone no matter what your family looks like

My absolute favorite episode of wcdht. I love the honesty, tenderness and understanding Glennon and Craig share with us. It is so very beautiful to see that this is possible for those who are faced with divorce.

Well timed message

I will be re- listening to the boundaries session!! From understanding what it means to set boundaries to realizing what and who I am responsible for. These are all things I have struggled with as an empath/sensitive and it was a much needed eye opener. Thank you Glennon and your sister for opening up this dialogue and sharing I have a newfound and much needed appreciation for boundaries. Michele

Thank you

I was married to a man for 30 years. Pushed down feeling I didn’t know I had. Finally one night after a few glasses of wine I got the nerve to ask a woman out. Everyone in my life said they were not surprised. Ps. She is sleeping next to me as I write this. At 50 something I feel real. Everything about this podcast made me feel supported.
