Publisher's Summary

It is 1953, and although the coastal village of Stepmouth appears as idyllic as ever, a passionate feud threatens to shatter the small community.

Sixteen-year-old Rachel Vale, wilful and unconventional, has fallen in love with the man her brother hates - and when the town is devastated by a vast, unstoppable flood, the Vale family's left broken and irreconcilably divided. Or so it seems....

Love Hurts

The chapters alternate between 1930s England and present day Majorca; where three generations of a family reside. There is an almost Montague/Capulet feel to the lovers in each decade, with an ever present air of foreboding. Although slow to start it is a worthwhile listen.
