A Wedding, Murder and Friends

Waylaid at the Wedding is the 9th and final book in A Temp Job Cozy Mystery series and it is full of exciting twists and happy moments. I have loved this series since the beginning and this final book tied it all up nicely! Scarlett is taking a week off from her various temp jobs to help with her brother Daniel's and Emily's wedding. Her best friend Cass is visiting and her good friend Hannah is helping along with Scarlett's boyfriend Austin. Things start going wrong pretty quickly. The caterer cancels because of a staffing shortage so Scarlett, Austin and friends step in to help the cantankerous caterer. Things get worse when they find her dead. Scarlett, her mom and Cass have been getting threatening texts that have increased and have focused on Daniel and Emily's wedding. Things continue to be exciting and the culprit is finally caught but not without a few perilous moments! This is an enjoyable cozy mystery and I liked spending time with Scarlett, Austin, family and friends. The audiobook narrated by Amber Battaglia is well done and enjoyable. The characters come to life! I received an advance audiobook from author K.B. Blake and I voluntarily leave this review.

A wonderful end to the series!

I enjoyed the entire Temp Job Cozy Mystery series by KB Blake. Although I always resented Scarlett’s immature brother Daniel for her blacklisting and his good fortune, I realize there wouldn’t be a series without that initial event. In this book, everyone is scrambling to get ready for Daniel’s wedding, when Scarlett finds another dead body and is getting menacing messages from someone. Everyone pitches it and by the end of the book, all loose ends are tied up! Even my issue about Daniel was resolved! I wish the series didn’t end, but I’m glad Scarlett and her family are on firmer ground. The narration by Amber Battaglia is outstanding. Her performance brought the characters and story to life.
