Publisher's summary

From the legendary special operations sniper and best-selling author of The Reaper comes a rare and powerful audiobook on the art of being a sniper.

Way of the Reaper is a step-by-step accounting of how a sniper works, through the lens of Irving's 10 most significant kills - none of which have been told before. Each mission is an in-depth look at a new element of eliminating the enemy, from intel to luck, recon to weaponry. Told in a thrilling narrative, this is also a heart-pounding true story of some of the Reaper's boldest missions, including the longest shot of his military career on a human target of over half a mile.

In Iraq and Afghanistan, Nick Irving earned his nickname in blood, destroying the enemy with his sniper rifle and in deadly firefights behind a .50 caliber machine gun. He engaged a Taliban suicide bomber during a vicious firefight, used nearly silent subsonic ammo, and was the target of snipers himself. Way of the Reaper attempts to place the listener in the heat of battle, experiencing the same dangers, horrors, and acts of courage Irving faced as an elite member of the 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, while also examining the personal ramifications of taking another life.

Listeners will experience the rush of the hunt and the dangers that all snipers must face while learning what it takes to become an elite man hunter. Like the Reaper himself, this explosive audiobook blazes new territory and takes no prisoners.

The preface of this audiobook is read by the author.

Again Phenomenal Book 2 is as good as Book1

Thank you for sharing. I can't even express how much I like this book and the the 1st one. I've listened to a lot of books about Afghanistan. Both of Nicholas Irving's books are in my top 5. I have to say the narrator is the best 1 out there for these types of books as well. Most of the war books I've listen to the narrator sounds like a South Park voice to me because they are trying to hard to sound like the pipe swingers they are narrating for, but they're not so it is a little funny and a little annoying. The guy on both of Irving's books sounds natural and doesn't distract from the story. Gotta say, with that I wish Irving would have done his own narration like his Brother Paul Martinez "When the Killer Man Comes" Another great listen. Thanks again SSGT. Irving for all you and your Brothers in Arms have done for U.S. and for sharing. I hope some day I can shake your hand and tell you in person. Whether you know it or not, that small part about your buddy's suicide and why really helped me figure some things out as well. That one little part was so on point and insightful. It really helped. thank you and God bless.

GREAT Story, well read

Like Nick's first Reaper book, this one describes in details some of his missions. What he was thinking, or not and how this affected his life, mind and the guys he worked with. His big supporter Jessica, who understood the struggles and helped him! Awesome book, can't wait to start his first novel of the Reaper-series.

Another great book by the reaper

Good book that gave more clarity to the mindset that at least some of our nation's heroes are going through, downrange and back home.
