Read it instead.

this is a great book series and after the events of its predecessors, well worth the read. I read each book and decided to do the audible when I was driving, and I must say i did not enjoy the narrator for water's wrath. So I read it completely. Bring Devan McGaughey back please.

Love this series..

There so much to delve into, just when you think you know it all! Surprises at every turn, with a heart that burns ever so bright with the pulse of this series. Some sadness, very sad to the point of tears, some treachery, some adventure, and a ton of magic!

The only issue I have was the tone, flow, word accents, and names mispronounced by this new narrator. It was jarring and pulled me out of the story. If this was rerecorded, I would probably get rid of this version, if the update was a better narrator. It is tough after 3 books of audio to get with the new names and it made this lovely series less enjoyable for this book, sadly.

Great story and characters ❤

The narrator is awful...don't waste your money

I love this series! But this narrator sounds like a phone sex operator. Shes super breathy and the voices were terrible. I couldn't even listen to the book. I had to stop listening and finish reading the series. It was truly painful. She can't even pronounce the names correctly. Smh! Please bring back Devan to finish the series!!! I think in going to have return the last the books and pray that they bring back Devan. I'm so sad 😥

Change in narrator was very distracting

The book, continued series, was good and as expected. However, I have to agree with other negative reviews of the narrator’s performance - not good. It is incredibly distracting to have her pronounce and read characters names, personality, accents, cadence, and overall demeanor differently than what I’ve come to be familiar of the story. Also, I’m unsure if it was her performance for the author’s intent, but the main characters were read with more “attitude”, ego, and impatience than the other books. I’ve learned to know the protagonists as meek, humble, shy but in this book they all seem like they’re giving “attitude”. Please re-perform the audio.

Narrator sucks

In any other situation she would be wonderful, but she obviously didn’t listen to the three books before. She pronounces Vhalla’s name vAL-lA instead of “Vah-la” and Aldrick’s name became “Al-drick”. The accent for the west became Russian for some reason.
Honestly, I really hate this recording. The narrator herself would be fine if she actually had bothered listening to the others to learn how the accents and names went.

Good but…

Please have this book re-recorded with the previous narrator. The new one threw off the flow of the story and the mispronounced names throw you off even more (like the last air bender movie compared to the show) gonna return this just read it myself or wait for a hopeful re-record with Devan McGaughey.

New narrator makes this a hard listen

Air Awakens is one of my favorite series. I was excited to download the audiobook versions to listen to in the car.

I'm very disappointed in the narrator change. I don't mind terribly when a series changes narrators, however, this one pronounces many of the names and places differently. Also, her accent and enunciation of words is distracting. As a scholarly library girl who, in previous books, is praised for sounding like a lady, it's odd to hear someone have Vhalla sound whiny and say things like "nothin'" instead of "nothing". I know it's not a huge difference, but between the changed pronunciations of the major characters names, and this narrators tone and accent, it was hard to appreciate what is the continuation of a great story.

Very hard to listen to this book

I enjoyed the first 3 books but at the first sound of this narrator’s voice I wanted my money back. She mispronounces all the character names and I can’t stand her tone of voice...way too “valley girl” and not the humble tone of the original narrator. I’m irritated I’ll have to listen to her again in the last book.

I Preferred the Book

I love Air Awakens! It's one of my favorite series and Elise Kova is such a stunningly beautiful writer! Her words are powerful and stick with you. So I'm horribly disappointed in the narrator. Her voice is just not Vhalla. The way she says her words, especially at the end of sentences makes me cringe. This is not a valley girl series and shouldn't come across as one. I really tried to get into the story and just listen to these beloved words, but it just wasn't possible.

Different reader

I love the series I was surprised when I heard a different reader, this is the 4th book why switch. Her voice was just annoying and she pronounced the names totally different from the previous reader and her tone is just grating.
