Impressive First Experience w/J.L. Beers

Okay, this was a quick and fun book. The spice isn’t overdone or overwhelming, but it is hot when it happens. This story was an enjoyable game of cat and mouse, frankly. With a good dose of “who is it?” at the onset, followed by a “girl, seriously?” as it carried on. I found myself arguing with the FMC for the last 1/3 of the book, but given how her mother encourages all her choices, the result is the most plausible. Crystal (pretty sure that’s her name) was an excellent bestie, with whom I almost always agreed in the times of needing to hit the FMC with some reality.

The Author’s writing in this book hits in a way that feels upbeat and happy, even in moments that aren’t. I experienced a lot more “oh that’s hot” than “oh no” with this book, and I’m happy I gave it a go.
