Even when he ends up feeling the same way, Fleda cannot bring herself to marry him as this would force him to break his engagement to Mona, and thus betray all of her own ideals.

I thought that the encounters between father and daughter were charged, yet restrained. Masterfully written.Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
