Trial 999. Codename: Warhead.

Day in and day out, I was reminded of what I was: a subject, a mere guinea pig to a bunch of insatiable lab tests. These scientists were trying to break me, recondition me, control me. I had no idea that my life would succumb to this, a mysterious phenomenon in need of experimentation. Because humans feared what they couldn’t understand, and I happened to be a powerhouse in my own right, a supernatural prodigy. But one day, after almost twenty years, I escaped, leaving nothing behind but ashes and acid rain.

Little did I know, I’d be reminded of that fateful night I’d left my constant nightmare…

Bio nukes fell from the sky with one goal in mind: to essentially turn everyone into superhumans like me.

Turning innocent lives into a round of Russian roulette was the name of the game. The aftermath left two sides of the same coin: to become supervillains or superheroes. I choose the latter, but not by choice.

Either way, I had a binding contract with The Brother’s Code, a crime-fighting organization where plain supes could train to become TBC Super Heroes.

Now I have to make things right, working with The Brother’s Code to stop this wave of supervillains created by the same facility that turned my cells into biological warfare. A team of three girls and I would become superheroes, defying all odds to shut down Sigma-RE for good, just as long as we could find a way to work together.

Easier said than done.

Really great story!

It’s got a good balanced story, it kept me focused on the story and not overloaded with sex, the girls have a well thought up background and all have a growth too them emotionally, I would definitely recommend this book it’s worth a read.

How And Why

How does the main character have any Skills with women? When he was abducted at 7 years old, shouldn't he be a Virgin?

Its complicated.

The story has some plot holes. The mc is supposed to be invulnerable yet get stuck with a needle on four different occasions. Should have went with the anger route for the mc rather than the beta everything is going to be alright route. With the mc's history it would make more sense.
I do like the girls. They are well thought out. They have damage and character.

Book is about 30% adult and 70% story.

Cool concept for a book.. but the story let me down.

!!(Spoiler potential ahead)!!

The start of the book had me intrigued. MC was a potentially unique human. He has a dark and troubled past that incited anger and disgust in equal measure. (Not towards the MC). The story really started to let me down when time after time MC, guy who was supposed to be strong is basically useless. Up to the point I read, MC has done nothing more worthy than be ran ruff shod over and manipulated. He should be more irritated over this predicament he has found himself in. Granted traumas are all different. IMO, he at the very least shouldn’t be ok with kidnapping, being drugged, and finding out later he was chipped without his knowledge. I would think with his specific past he would be incredibly angry. For being the supposed origin and strongest it sure feels like every female you are surrounded by is stronger and more competent.

Other than my issues with MC. There are things that don’t add up and are moved past in the story W/O adequate explanation. Like how did they set up a huge facility in multiple cities within a few days that perfectly caters to holding modified people if this was a surprise thing that happened. At one point MC goes after a new leader and somehow there is a barrier that protects them. No explanation. I could go on, but basically there were more questions and not enough explanation.

Overall if you are not bothered by these things than the book is an ok read. The voice actors were top notch. I was looking forward to this book since it was a new author for me. It was just kind of a let down.

I will try to finish the book and I will edit if I feel differently by then.
