War Horse has become a modern classic. This wonderful version is narrated by the author, Michael Morpurgo, and Joanna Lumley. It was recorded with musical accompaniment by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The music is composed by Adrian Sutton, with songs by John Tam. The principal singer is Tim van Eyken, the original Songman from The National Theatre's Warhorse.

I have listened to several versions of the story. one of them is the full book narrated by John Keating and this is more of a concert with musical interludes and singing that helped bring the story to life. I did miss some of the detail that was in the book during Joey's time pulling the ambulance wagon during the war. but this is a very enjoyable story and with your time. if you want to get deeper into the story listen to or read the actual book. he's short and very enjoyable.

Wonderful rendition of this story.
