Publisher's summary

Desperate to save as many people as he can from a horrible fate in the cruel game of the gods, Lee and his small group of friends abandon the relative safety of Satterfield for the great city of Kirshtein. Tensions within the city have reached a breaking point after the arrival of an enemy Herald, and Lee is soon caught up in the struggle for power.

Captured, imprisoned, and forced to fight for his life on the blood-soaked sands of the Kirshtein arena, Lee has to figure out how to survive long enough to mend the rifts in the broken city before it falls apart completely.

Armed with new skills, joined by new allies, and up against his most dangerous enemy yet, Lee's bid for survival in the War of Eternity takes on even higher stakes as he learns the what true leadership requires. Now, with an ominous new threat looming in the distance and an army on the horizon, Lee has to answer one question: Can he pay the price of victory?

This is the second installment of War Aeternus, a popular LitRPG Gamelit book that focuses on the adventures of Lee, a regular office worker stuck in a game-like world.

The books just keep getting better

This book was very well written and very enjoyable. I really loved the character development of miller. Kinda glad of the ending book was getting a little bit boring with all the heterosexual romance drama that we are so use to seeing. The challenges are main character is facing are very well written and feel like real challenges.

This series makes me laugh

The series is great, the characters are compelling, but best of all, the humor actually makes me laugh.

bit short but worth it!

I usually dont listen to books under 20hrs but I really like this series. it's a unique take on litrpg and well put together. Characters are funny and relatable.
The narrator is super talented. I have a different series with him and he sounds completely different. its crazy how many different voices he can do. his Arnold voice for Miller is hilarious

A new take on the LitRPG category

I enjoyed the humor interspersed within story and at the same time the author added so much more depth to several characters.

The performance is stellar with sound effects and multiple voice actors.

What disappoints me is how the MC has achieved Anime level of clueless with relationships.

How to do this book justice?

I gave Book 1 three stars, but Book 2 gets the highest of five stars.

In the 50 or so series I’ve read, not one has had a Book 2 that so much improved on Book 1.

Compelling, humorous, thought provoking, intriguing, and with many characters you really, truly care about. I could not put this book down, and carried my phone around, stayed up all night, and never stopped listening. This book is quite an achievement in the genre.

I’m going to have to move some other LitRPG series down my list of the best to insert War Aeternus, maybe all of them.

You’ll still need to start with Book 1, but don’t be turned off by the almost incoherent direction and awkward narration. It all starts to come together, and Jeff Hayes shows the consistency here in Book 2 that we’ve come to expect from him.

Great Sequel

A lot of the elements that made the first book great were expounding upon in the book (cool IRL content and great character development). Also I’m a sucker for gladiator content. The narrator does a fantastic job bringing all the characters to life!

This story is taking time to slowly world build. I like Lee the main character and feel he is being given a chance to grow.
