She doesn't play it safe....

Sophie Sarantos has a weakness for dangerous men. She doesn't like safe lovers - she likes men with a wild, rough edge. But Sophie may have attracted a lover who is too dangerous, even for her. Someone is stalking Sophie, slipping into her home, watching her day and night. The stranger seems to know all of Sophie's darkest secrets, secrets that should never be revealed.

Out of options, Sophie turns to ex-solider Lex Jensen for protection. Lex is part owner of VJS Protection, Inc., and Sophie hires him as her bodyguard. She thinks Lex is one of the "good guys" out there, but she couldn't be more wrong.

He doesn't play at all....

Lex has his own secrets. Dark, deadly secrets. And as his feelings for Sophie grow, Lex knows that he is going to have to stop pretending to be a gentleman and, instead, he'll have to show Sophie who he really is. A man trained to kill. A man too used to evil. A man who will take any risk...as long as he can claim Sophie.

Because there is one thing that Lex wants in this world... one person he desires above all others... Sophie. And no one will hurt her, not on his watch.

Sometimes dumb but mostly exciting..

Any additional comments?

This book had a couple of really stupid parts. I realize they want each other but for him to kiss her the way he did in the courtroom showed a complete lack of respect for her workplace. And when they were crossing the street and the SUV nearly ran them down and Lex grabbed Sophie up and they went rolling across the concrete and then they kissed like nothing happened, like they were in her brownstone or something. It was too stupid for words. I can’t see two people kissing like that after they’ve almost been killed. Fortunately, the stupidness was over before long and the book became interesting and exciting. This was a terrific stalker book.

I liked both Lex and Sophie, but, good grief, what a horrible childhood they both had. I’m surprised either of them made it out alive.

I Like Ethan and Finn and can’t wait to read Ethan’s story. And I’m just assuming there’s going to be Finn’s, too. And it was nice having Dev and Chance be part of this story.

There was great sexual tension and some wonderful bedroom scenes.

As to the narrator: He was pretty bad with the women’s voices. It was like he didn’t put too much effort in trying to sound even a little bit feminine. There were times I didn’t know if Lex or Sophie were talking, and that’s bad. When a narrator can’t even try to change his or her voice to sound male or female that makes for a bad narrator. If any more of Ms. Eden’s books are narrated by Lance Greenfield I’ll have to pass.

sexy ex-military guys & a good story make me happy

A great addition to this series. It wasn't long and drawn out with unnecessary angst. The action was quick and the lovers were hot. I wished we got more of that sexual tension the lust quickly escalated to a kind of obsession/love. I got the feeling that weeks passed since the first book and this book so whatever happened in those weeks the attraction must have been building and we didn't get a peek of that.

I liked Sophie and Lex. Sophie had a hard candy shell with a gooey inside. Lex wore his heart on his sleeve and laid his cards on the table from word one. I did NOT see the bad guy coming, kudos to Cynthia Eden for that one.

story - 3
narrator 2.5

ok the narrator Lance Greenfield has an amazingly sexy voice. I would have given him a 3 but his voice didn't change much between his women and men so sometimes I had to relisten to a few conversations twice so I could follow who was who. I think with time he'll get better. He can totally make it into my top favs if he improves.
