Publisher's Summary

Does being nobody's fool mean that you're nobody's love?

Colleen O'Rourke is in love with love…just not when it comes to herself. Most nights, she can be found behind the bar at the Manningsport, New York, tavern she owns with her twin brother, doling out romantic advice to the lovelorn, mixing martinis, and staying more or less happily single. Ten years ago Lucas Campbell, her first love, broke her heart - an experience Colleen doesn't want to have again, thank you very much. Since then, she's been happy with a fling here and there, some elite-level flirting, and playing matchmaker to her friends.

But a family emergency has brought Lucas back to town, handsome as ever and still the only man who's ever been able to crack her defenses. Seems like maybe they've got some unfinished business waiting for them, but to find out, Colleen has to let her guard down or risk losing a second chance with the only man she's ever loved.

4.75 Stars!

I loved this story! It’s my favorite in the series, so far. I was immediately invested in Lucas and Colleen’s second-chance love story. Their individual backstories were entertaining and sometimes sad, but even more heartbreaking was their young love, broken apart by mistakes, indignation, and hurt. Tempering the heartache and remorse was the author’s fabulous humor, showcased in Colleen’s entertaining banter and quick wit. I smiled and laughed as often as I was swooning or near tears. Waiting on You was near perfection in everything it offered to me as a romance reader. Higgins is quickly becoming a favorite contemporary author. (Audio: Perfect!)

“Just once, I’d love to be heartbroken ..."

Colleen is great. Beautiful, strong, independent, flirt, and still in love with the only boy/man she has ever been in love with. Lucas is successful, married into a wealthy family after having nothing his whole life. Now, he is back in Manningsport to look after his adult cousin because his uncle is dying. After Lucas' father was sent to prison, his uncle Joe took him in but Lucas never received the same treatment as his cousin Bryce (because of his B*^$% aunt - not his uncle). After the breakup with Colleen, Lucas moved on - or so he tried to tell himself. Now he is divorced and back in town. Colleen knows he will break her heart and she is helpless to stop it.

Pass

Not the best. Too much talk of her 'special places'. Not enough depth of characters. Just lots of dumb, childish conversations in a bar.

Very funny and entertaining

What made the experience of listening to Waiting on You the most enjoyable?

The humor of the story. There were a number of parts that were so funny because I could picture it happening. Very good narration.

What other book might you compare Waiting on You to and why?

The other books in this series as well as Kristan Higgins other books. She writes with a great deal of humor.

Which character – as performed by Amy Rubinate – was your favorite?

Colleen.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Laugh out loud funny.

Any additional comments?

I've bought all of the Kristan Higgins books available on Audible. I haven't been disappointed with any of them.

Laugh out loud descriptions, was not offended by the language, and listened the whole way. Great book!

Sweet story, but not as good as the previous 2

I found this story to be sweet and entertaining, but for some reason not as good as the previous two books. Still worth the listen. Can't wait to read Jack Holland's story now.

Best so far in the series, funny!

Good pace to story. Main character’s internal voice is very funny. Expanded on series characters and included some more interesting ones. Again, this is the best one in the blue heron series so far.

The Queen of Romance Doesn't Disappoint!

Nobody does romance better than Kristan Higgins and in this third installment of the Blue Heron series (by far the best), she shines. Life hasn't been kind to Lucas Campbell, the kid from the South side of Chicago, who comes to Manningsport, during Collen O'Roarke's senior year of high school. One look at Lucas and her vow to never get serious about anyone is forgotten. It doesn't take long for the two teens to fall deeply in love. They manage to stay together through four years of college, Lucas in Chicago and Collen in NY, but a misunderstanding leads to their break up, and even though Lucas marries another woman, they still love each other. Lucas' Uncle Joe's impending death brings him back to Manning sport. At first, Collen tries to ignore her rekindled love for Lucas but her resolve to not get hurt again quickly crumbles. Can Collen & Lucas put old hurts behind them and live happily ever after? Along for the ride are Lucas' ne'er do well cousin, Bruce, Colleen's dysfunctional family and other assorted townspeople. Don't miss this fantastically romantic novel!

Waiting on You

This is my favorite book in the Blue Heron series by Kristan Higgins. A second chances romance. Narration by Amy Rubinate is great. HEA and no cliffhanger. .
