Publisher's Summary

A supernatural fantasy thriller

Momma always told me, when I find myself in a hole, it’s time to stop digging - but between the Nephilim, cyclops, and dragon, I can’t seem to find daylight.

To make matters worse, the blind angel shows up searching for one of his missing brethren, a.k.a. the Great Deceiver. He loves to play the kind of games that cost men their souls. That dark angel challenges me with an unholy choice: save Molly or save my city.

Waite on the Ripper was an intense roller-coaster ride of a story. The second book, Waite on the Blind Angel, is a dizzying cat and mouse merry-go-round chase that doesn’t slow down. It is second in a series of escalating adventures that lead Harmon Waite inevitably into the Celestial Wars.

The soul-blessed worlds will never be the same!

Fascinating & Thrilling

I can't get over how much I'm enjoying this series, I know, I'll be listening to it again, at least a few more times. Waite on the Blind Angel is brilliantly written, with a complex plot and incredible world-building. The storyline is fast-paced, action-packed, intense, and exciting; a thrilling ride. The premise is intriguing and wholly fascinating, good vs evil, angels vs demons, with dwarfs, dragons, portals, and additional supernatural elements. And, amits of its all, is our brave heroes, battling powerful forces, fearless in the face of danger.

Another stellar performance Dan Johnson. He emulated the characters, channels their personalities, accents, and intensity of the scenes flawlessly. The deep rumbling voice he used for the dragon was absolutely amazing. Kudos to both author and narrator. The Celestial Wars is incredibly entertaining and thrilling, one I'll wholeheartedly recommend.

I absolutely love this book series!

In the second book of the series, Waite On The Blind Angel. Make no mistake the angel is actually the devil and he brought friends. Is it the devil isn’t enough of a battle he’s brought the dragon and oh yes there cyclops. There’s also some unknown demons that aren’t worth mentioning, but I do want to mention that the angels the Real Angels, Harmon Smoke,, Irene and Detective Molly have enough problems. With the Devil turning Molly Into a statue and transports her far away.then before it’s over Harmon takes a long trip with the Dragon. Then the Devil involved Molly‘s parents Chance and Eileen and he’s not playing games. I think this one is my favorite one so far and I also think the narrator did an awesome job with the Scottish voice the dragons voice and of course everyone else’s voice is awesome. The story was great if you like good against evil this is definitely a book you want to read This isn’t even my favorite genre and I love this series!

2nd Book in The Celestial Wars

This story is based on the war between Heaven and Hell or God and Satan. This is a unusual and interesting fictional story were you have the children of Angels and humans from both sides of the war fighting. Narrator does a good job with the characters voices and the entire storyline.

Amazing!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I was given the opportunity to listen to this one after I reviewed the first one. I can easily say that this one was just as good, maybe even better. The world is well built and I love the writing. Of course, all of that means nothing if you had a bad narrator. This narrator is amazing and I love the performance! I wish the book was longer but I can't complain too much as the story is well written without feeling rushed or like things are missing.

Waite on the Blind Angel

This second book, in The Celestial Wars series, certainly keeps things moving at a quick pace. A good vs. evil story hat will keep you on the edge of your seat.

John Campbell has done a fantastic job with the world building and the characters continue to grow. I’m hooked and ready to move to the next book!

Dan Johnson does the perfect voice for the main character, Harmon Waite. I love the gravely, raspy tone.

Compelling read and does the first book justice

Book 2 of the Celestial Wars is a compelling read and does the first book justice, in style, action and twist and turns. Again all characters are well thought out and intriguing, the world building is amazing and the plot engaging.

The main characters are Harmon Waite and his team mates Smoke and Eirian, they have two major things in common: they are descendents from angels and have some angel powers are they are dedicated to fighting fallen angels and their demon spawn. And then there is Molly, a feisty police detective and dear friend to Harmon.

We jump straight into action with Smoke, the stoic Cherokee, who is described as a mountain of a man. While fishing, he encounters a huge monster; which after fighting off Smoke heads for Austin and Smoke speeds off to warn the team. At the same Harmon and Eirian break off from sword training to investigate an unexplained sonic boom and Molly is visited at Austin PD by a blind man with a strange dog, who brings her news from her parents.
From here on the story unfolds in unexpected ways that involve angels, fallen angels, demons and portals that lead to other worlds with more fantastic beings. Some become friends and allies, others need to be fought and eliminated.

I have one criticism though: Molly seems to have taken on the role of damsel in distress, and doesn’t engage in any of the fights, which stands in stark contrast to the feisty law enforcement officer with a penchant for big guns, whom we met in book 1 and I would have deducted something from the rating, if I could take away partial stars – however it still deserves more than four stars, so the rating stays at five stars.

This novel can be read as stand-alone, but I would highly recommend reading the first book, to find out how the main characters met and formed this team.

I’m delighted that Dan Johnson narrates again; I love listening to his deep, resonant voice, which I again slowed down a little bit, to get the perfect nonchalant ‘detective noir’ feel.

I received this book in audio book format from the author and am leaving this review of my own volition.

A great addition to a great Siri’s

Harlan and the guys are back but so is the Satan and the dragon and other demons that are nameless but all are out to destroy. This is another great addition to the celestial wars serious and I can’t wait for book 3. I always get this way at the end of one of John’s books I always think the last one was my favorite but I’m sure when I rebooked three I would think the same thing. I love these books and highly recommend them what an imagination this author has in the narrators voice makes it that much better.
