Pete Brooks can't believe he's waited an entire year for Jess Tagg to return to Montana, only to have her break his heart by getting engaged to her ex-fiancé. Worse, a series of mistakes on the job have cost lives, and Pete isn't sure he wants to continue to work in Search and Rescue. Maybe if he can just get over Jess, he can figure out how to move forward.

EMT Jess Tagg has returned to Montana to finally give her heart to Pete, but it seems he's no longer interested. When a terrible fight between them sparks an impulsive decision, she finds herself crashed on the side of a highway along with Esme Shaw. And just when she thinks things couldn't get any worse, she and Esme are taken captive and into the untamed Montana wilderness—with murderous intent.

Now Pete and the other PEAK Rescue Team members are in a race against time, the elements, and the actions of a vengeful man. Pete will have to use everything he's learned to find Jess and Esme—and pray that his past mistakes don't cost him the life of the woman he can't stop loving.

I loved the series of this author in Montana. The importance of God, family and Team are opened for the Balance, of love, without a sexual diskription , beauty of the lands, and appreciation of Gods lgifts

back to basics, The importance of showing love.

Man I’ve enjoyed this series. Well done Ms. Warren, in my humble opinion.

This could not have been done any better, keeping it clean while providing the ultimate suspense.

Just “Well-Done”!!

I’m even purchasing the last in the series, which I have never done; to purchase a book less than 9 hours long. Breaking my own rule for the 1st time, these are so good.

Complete with drama, suspense & romace

Once again, Susan Warren has written a winner. I couldn’t stop listening. Just when I thought everyone was safe, something else would happen. Whew! What a bumpy ride, but what a glorious ending. You have to either read or listen to this book (or both). I appreciate her showing that without the Lord, we will never truly succeed.

Great end to a great page turning series

Susan May Warren outdid herself. This adrenaline packed book ended an adventure of epic proportions. Throughout the series different members of the Peak Rescue Team and family members fell in love but faced challenges both internally and externally. Warren is a true wordsmith. I love that she doesn’t shy away from reminding us of the depths of God’s love and grace. Pete struggles with feelings of not being good enough and with past regrets. Jess is trying to find how to make two different worlds come together and figure out how to live in both. I suggest reading or listening to the whole series. If you have heart problems keep your meds nearby!
