Joe loved Brenda and Joe did not know love before he met Brenda. Joe’s point is that he loved Brenda with all the strength in his soul, he would protect and comfort her with every muscle in his body and try his best to be with her every minute of his life and provide for her material comfort as best he could. He felt that he was unworthy of the Angel and Goddess Brenda, the object of his affection.
His point was that life was love and love was Brenda. To Joe Brenda became love and his whole life. This he expressed in Wooing Brenda in poetic verse to make her his wife. This may be the greatest love story never told (which was another alternate name for this book of poetry, but let’s face it 3 was enough, their love could not be contained in 1 title.)
