  • Are You Chasing Fruit While Neglecting Roots
    Apr 6 2026

A perfect date can be the loudest reminder that something deeper is off. We start with a story about a husband who tries to reconnect through a big romantic plan, only to discover that what both spouses really want is honesty, forgiveness, and a heart-level bond that can’t be purchased or scheduled.

We talk about Christian marriage and biblical marriage advice through the picture Jesus gives in Luke 6: the fruit always reveals the tree. If the roots of your relationship are dry, even the best restaurant or most expensive surprise can feel empty. That’s why we draw a hard line: dating will not fix a marriage in jeopardy. Real change starts with Jesus Christ, a transformed heart, and learning to treat your spouse with grace, respect, and steady love. If things are unhealthy, we also encourage getting help from a pastor or counselor for prayer and direction.

From that healthy foundation, we share practical marriage tips for romance that actually work: the energize and deflate two-column list, small surprises that speak directly to your spouse’s needs, intentional date planning, and a fun tool David calls Love Note Strips to spark better conversation and anticipation. We also walk through the Five Love Languages so your acts of love land the way your spouse receives them, plus ideas for birthdays, anniversaries, and “pulse checks” that keep you from drifting.

  • What If Your Marriage Runs On Undeserved Kindness
    Mar 30 2026

Forgetfulness can freeze a home even when the heat is sitting five feet away. We start with a simple firewood story and then hold it up to a hard spiritual reality: many of us have received mercy and grace from God, yet we still treat our spouse like a debtor who must pay up now.

We walk through Matthew 18 and the parable of the unmerciful servant to define mercy and grace in plain terms and show how quickly “I’ve been forgiven” can turn into “I have rights.” From there, we connect Luke 18 to the pride and self-righteousness that block humility, making it nearly impossible to give what we refuse to remember we’ve been given. If you’ve ever thought, “This is unacceptable” or “They owe me,” this conversation puts language to what’s happening in your heart.

Then we get practical for Christian marriage: when your spouse’s sin affects you, Hebrews 4 points you to the throne of grace where God promises mercy and grace in your time of need. We tie forgiveness to relationship, revisit Jesus’ “seventy times seven,” and use Psalm 103 to challenge the habits that keep couples stuck in grudges and emotional distance. The hope is real: the warmth of gospel-centered love is re-obtainable when we stop keeping score and start re-gifting what God supplies.

If this helped you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs encouragement, and leave a review so more couples can find biblical marriage support and practical tools for forgiveness and grace.

  • Stop Agreeing To Disagree
    Mar 23 2026

“Agree to disagree” sounds mature, but we’ve watched it quietly hollow out unity in marriage. When two people stop working toward oneness, they don’t stop the conflict, they just postpone it until it comes back louder. We start with a listener question we hear all the time and unpack why even small disagreements can grow into bitterness, disrespect, and emotional distance when each spouse retreats into “I’ll do me.”

From there, we get practical and biblical. We talk through how to identify the heart of the issue, how to test our motives against Scripture, and why Philippians 2 and Romans 12 call us to humility, honor, and giving preference rather than demanding our way. We also draw a clear line between personal preference and situations where God’s Word is at stake, because unity cannot be built on ignoring obedience.

We also tackle two pressure points that show up in countless Christian marriages: lack of quality time together and strain in the bedroom, plus the high-stakes debate of staying home with kids versus working. We share a simple time inventory you can do this week, a budgeting process based on real spending history, and ways to address fears about finances and isolation. Finally, we answer whether it’s better to argue behind closed doors or in front of kids, and we lay out a path for hard conversations shaped by prayer, accountability, and Matthew 18.
