If you love Michigan football you’ll love this

This was so interesting. I loved both the stories about Michigan before I started attending Michigan games and those from the games I watched. Highly recommended.

Historic and enjoyable

I read the book first, but the audible was much more meaningful. First of all is Brandstatter’s mastery of the spoken word in his preambles to the voices was excellent. Then to hear the actual voices was unique and gave me goose bumps instead of me imagining or not what they sounded like. I felt it was well organized and flowed very smoothly. In fact, I listened to its entirety in one sitting. In another 100 years this will be reference material for those who enter Michigan Stadium.

As both a fan and an Alumni of the U of M, this was fun to listen to.

First book about Michigan football I've enjoyed that wasn't written by John U. Bacon. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish!!!

Fantastic. Creatively written. Wonderfully read by Jim B. I love hearing the voices of coaches and players I grew up watching as a huge MI fan. A great read or listen for any sports fan.

Outstanding

As an alum who thought he knew a lot about Michigan football, this book emphatically showed me otherwise. What an excellent job Jim Brandstatter did…

The best things about this audiobook are the stories told by the ex-players (and coaches) themselves, with Jim deftly and unobtrusively leading us around. There are so many great ones, but a few players’ audio clips stand out to me…Reggie McKenzie, Desmond Howard, Ron Johnson, Harlan Huckleby, and Rick Leach, just to name a few. Jack Harbaugh tells some great stories about being on Bo’s coaching staff.

And best of all, it was very enlightening to hear Bo himself, both in interviews and in those amazing pre-game speeches captured on tape by his coaching staff. Wow. I was ready to run through a wall after those…

The one person I wish he’d interviewed was Jim Harbaugh, since he both played for Bo and coached at U of M….but I’m nitpicking. I still loved the audiobook.

The outstanding stories and memories are only matched by the personal touch of hearing the actual voices of all those involved over the years. an absolute must for any true blue wolverine or anyone who just appreciates college football.
