Publisher's summary

Voices of Michigan Stadium—the yells, the cheers, the whispers—they’ve filled Michigan Stadium for nearly a century. You can still hear them today. Stories of triumph, surprise, and disappointment are all part of this collection. You can hear Bo Schembechler giving his team an emotional pregame message. You can hear Kip Taylor telling his surprising tale on how he scored the stadium’s first ever touchdown in 1927. You can listen to Kramer, Chappius, Wistert, Canham, Johnson, Howard, Leach, and many more. They tell it all, in their own words and voices! They are the priceless voices of Michigan Stadium.

Historic and enjoyable

I read the book first, but the audible was much more meaningful. First of all is Brandstatter’s mastery of the spoken word in his preambles to the voices was excellent. Then to hear the actual voices was unique and gave me goose bumps instead of me imagining or not what they sounded like. I felt it was well organized and flowed very smoothly. In fact, I listened to its entirety in one sitting. In another 100 years this will be reference material for those who enter Michigan Stadium.

GO BLUE!!!

Loved every minute of this great piece. I’m sure 1,000 more can be produced and it still will not cover a fraction of the history of the maize and blue. Excellent listen. I want more…Go Blue!

Voices of Michigan Stadium

Fantastic. Creatively written. Wonderfully read by Jim B. I love hearing the voices of coaches and players I grew up watching as a huge MI fan. A great read or listen for any sports fan.

Amazing Encounter with this Book

Wow, what an amazing encounter I just experienced with “Voices of Michigan Stadium” by Jim Brandstatter. I am not much of a “sporty” type person however, after listening to this book, I will watch football games with a whole different light. This audio book captured all the emotions of every person Jim interviewed. Their personal encounters going through the most memorable time of their lives. The passion of each person interviewed, including the author’s narration, is authentic. While listening, you feel their experiences and emotions as each person relives their “Michigan experience.” Jim does an outstanding job narrating as he draws you into “their” world. I cannot stress enough this is one book that you do not want to miss, or in my case, have a trip long enough to get the whole book in.

History Comes to Life

I never believed I would care for an audio book. Always preferred the written word. But this book, and the way it was put together, changed that viewpoint. The voices of the participants, many long gone from this life, are a special treat.
