Publisher's summary

When accusations of piracy and mass murder are laid against his homeworld, Damien Montgomery is sent to resolve the crisis. As counteraccusations fly and an old flame reenters his life, the newest Hand of the Mage-King of Mars finds himself in the midst of a bloody interstellar shadow war. With the death toll mounting, Damien must decide whether he should trust the world he came from - or the world that asked for his help. A solid adventure and mystery

I wish audible gave us more granularity than only 5 stars. I liked Voice of Mars more than the 4 star rating I gave the prior Hand of Mars, but still don't feel like it deserves to be in the same 5 star category as my most favorite books. The ongoing mystery of who is behind the ship attacks holds together the overall story between the action better than the more uneven pacing of the prior book. The intensity is down a bit here, but is much more consistent.

The only criticism I have is that nothing truly great stands out. This is just a good enjoyable listen and well worth your credit.

Surprisingly Satisfying Series

I have purely enjoyed every book in this series since I found it and the third installment is as good as the first. can't recommend this 3 book, so far, series. Please keep producing this quality and I will have no qualms but the wait for the next installment.

Different and enthralling

It nicely blends magic and space travel. i like the fact that we have a hero who has power and actually doesn't mind USING it. Yet, he has limitations as well.

I'll for sure purchase the next in the series.
