Publisher's Summary

Voice of Life is the fourth and final audiobook in the Spoken Mage series.

In her fourth year at the Academy, Elena should be focusing on final exams and graduation. Instead, she has no choice but to stop a decades-long war - at least, if she wants any future with Lucas.

But it's hard to stop a war when you're nowhere near the front lines. And an unexpected invitation - one she can't refuse - only complicates the matter further. Embroiled in political machinations beyond her experience, Elena will have to plumb the depths of her remarkable power and new abilities.

As she finally learns who she can and can't trust, she'll risk everything to win a future for herself, her family, and her kingdom. But if she makes a misstep, the price could be more than she's willing to pay.

If you enjoy strong heroines, fantasy worlds, adventure, intrigue, and romance, then try the Spoken Mage series now!

conclusion of the series

This is a looonng book. It goes into detail covering Elena's final year as a trainee. And I was happy smiley at the end. The Author did fantastic resolving the story lines. and no glaring plot holes. I got this book to have while traveling in the car and loved the story so much I started putting it on also while working around the house and even twice after my kids were in bed and I just sat imagining the story with the narrator.
highly recommend this series.
note: my husband teased me during some of the snipits he heard. this book does have a PG rated love story. some kisses and war like violence but was fine for my kindergartener to hear in the car with me.

Life is beautiful

I love how the narrator brings life to this delightful story. The characters are strong and well written to get a clear picture of each of them. This final book in the series brought so much excitement and adventure as they discovered the secret behind the spoken mage power and ended the war and solved who the traitors were. The epilog helps tie up the loose ends and leaves enough to the imagination for you to build more on the story. Very well done! Highly recommend reading and listening to these books!

What a Pleasure!

The fourth and final book in The Spoken Mage series took me places I never expected to go.
Elena goes on quite the journey, even venturing out of her own country of Kallorway. Along the way she learns who she is, what her limitations are, and who can be trusted. This book takes you on an awesome ride.
An awesome and clean fantasy series.
I was given this audiobook for free and have voluntarily left this review.

Who says this is the end?

So, who says this is the end of the series? I just finished The Voice of Life, Book 4, and there are all kinds of plot threads left dangling. What happens when Elena is introduced to the Royal Court as Lucas’ Betrothed? She is singularly unprepared to swim among that school of piranhas. Then there is all the upheaval that change brings to the kingdom. Among the the Common Born there will be “haves” and “have nots,” those whose life force is blocked and are allowed to learn to read and write, and those who can’t because there aren’t enough Mages willing to make the sacrifice of blocking their own power. No cause for resentment there! And speaking of Mages, where do think a disproportionate number of those required to be blocked will come from? Wealth and power has its privileges, so its the lesser Houses who will be pressured more. Resentment much there, too? Peace has a price, too. All those veterans of the war come flooding home, looking for work, what will that do to the kingdom’s economy? It seems to me it will take somebody like the Spoken Mage who has entree and social cachet at all levels to navigate this minefield!

Something new

I have read this series twice. This time through I listened to the audible production. The books are refreshing. Not your usual mages. This is magic with a twist. Only mages can learn to read as the written word uncontrolled, has enough power to cause devastating explosions. Commoners cannot control the power of written word, yet Elena, a commoner can speak the words and control the power. In this final book in the series she has become the most powerful mage who ever lived, but even she has her limitations. As threats are uncovered that expose an assassination attempt on the royal family, Elena and Prince Lucas may be the only ones who can stop the plot.

Great Ending to an Excellent Series!

Definitely worth listening to! A completely different kind of story from the other three books, you will discover Elena's Origins and why she is the Spoken Mage. A little adventure, intrigue, and romance with a good ending. I have enjoyed all the books in The Spoken Mage Series immensely and look forward to more from Melanie Cellier!
