Great storyline

Nice start and finish with an unimaginable story!

Villa of Sun and Secrets by Jennifer Bohnet is indeed one of the complex storyline audio books I have heard. The main characters of Carla and Josette evolve in a whole new spectrum as the story progresses which is well written. However, a little more emotional bonding between Carla & Josette and Carla & Joel than that was narrated would have been great. Also, some more story on Joel, Maddy and Ed would have added a nice touch to the storyline overall. All in all, it is a brilliantly narrated story and beyond imagination. Worth a listen!

Listening to the recording was somewhat uneasy at the beginning of the audio book, either it got better later or I simply got used to listening to this audio book. 🙂 Julia Franklin's performance was actually wonderful narrating a spectrum of characters with English, French and Italian accents.

Relatable

How twisted our lives can be and how even at 70 years old we can resolve old hurts and fears and even find remanded if that’s what we are looking for in our later years. Great story

A pleasant read about a complicated family

I thought the story was a little rushed and hard to follow at times. Also, the accents were a bit heavy at times. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this story. The author paints a vivid picture that the narrator really brings to life. Filled with likable characters and an interesting storyline, I'd definitely recommend this to anyone hoping to hear a story about healing family wounds.

Keep going past the first chapter to give the French accent a chance.

Listeners in the reviews complained about the French accent and wouldn’t keep listening. That’s too bad because this book has a few surprises and twists and turns that keep you feeling for the characters. I loved this book and I respect the narrator for doing all the accents. French, English as in England, Scottish and Italian and maybe more I missed.

Well worth the listen

Interesting story with lots of twists and turns. Great narration with believable accents. A good romance without graphic sex scenes is hard to find. This book achieved that.

I almost didn't finish it.

It took awhile to get into. The French accent hard to understand at times but not unbearable. Overall I am glad I finished it. There were many twists and turns most of them predictable.
