Publisher's Summary

Have you ever wondered about the legendary Vikings that have been documented and portrayed across different channels of media? Do you know what history says about them and who they were, really?

The mysterious and widely misunderstood Vikings have been explained clearly and completely in this audiobook. For the lovers of ancient mythology, the audiobook brings valuable insights into Norse and Celtic mythology - what they said about the Vikings, their culture, their polytheistic religion, and much more.

In contrast to the common misconception about the Vikings that they were ruthless agnostics and brutes and not much more than that, the audiobook provides valuable insight into the polytheistic religion of the Vikings and gives an in-depth knowledge about their culture - whether they had a culture at all and whether they were the brutes that most accounts of their existence and activities say they were.

A mesmerizing tale revolving around the mysterious and profound Norse folklore and the beguiling lifestyle of the legendary Vikings.

This audiobook has connected all the pieces of the puzzle and presents a unique tapestry interwoven with multiple threads from the different sides of Norse mythology that contains all the answers about the legendary Vikings and their beliefs. To make a long story short, this audiobook holds in it a beguiling and thrilling tale of the beliefs of an enchanting and historic population written in a piquing manner.

Viking Mythology provides:

  • A detailed account of the Vikings - origin, culture, religion, and activities
  • An insight into the polytheistic religion and culture of the Norse people - the deities and the folklore
  • A detailed account of all the Norse mythological and religious beliefs - from the conception of the world to the concept of nine alternate universes
  • Fanciful tales about all the Norse mythological creatures and deities

Extremely Repetitive.

This repeats stories (like the creation of the world) an ungodly amount of times. i think by the time got half way through it, i had heard the story of the great ginnungagap 8 or 9 times.

it also loves to use the line 'be that as it may' constantly aswell.

it has good information in it but the construction and repetitions of stories makes it extremely difficult to be able to stand/follow.

This book touched my Mind

This is a very basic book. Which was exactly what I was looking for. Very easy to understand and a great first book for newcomers like me, to the world of crystals. I think that if you are a beginner who wants to get a good start this is the book for you!. I would recommend it highly. It is also a great book to keep on hand as a quick reference which is why i bought it.

Would not recommend

I found this audiobook pretty difficult to get through. I am highly interested in the subject and I usually fly through audiobooks, but I kept prolonging this one. I'm not sure if it was the narrator, who was very monotone, or if it was the author. Either way, there was a lot of repetition and I found it very hard to listen and keep track of what was going on. I would not recommend it.

Disjointed, terrible writing, robotic reading

Repetitive, disjointed, a hodgepodge, translation was awful, overuse and misuse of so many phrases like "be it as it may". The reader was the unholy robotic child of Siri and Lord Tarkin.

Repetitive moments

Be prepared to hear the phrase, Be that as it may... FREQUENTLY. Otherwise, informative but info circles back repeatedly. Maybe to help it sink in?

Viking Mythology

I found this book to be a bore. I am of Danish and Scots ancestry, so am very interested in this subject. Personally I think this is the worst book I have listened to on this subject..
If you want to hear the author opinion on films or
Marvel comics then buy. If not save your money or credit and get a real book as there are many out there. This author doesn't even bother to use the English language but preferes to speak in slang. One of the worst books
I have ever purchased.

Oh bloody hell

The content of the book itself is great, it's a shame the guy reading it struggles to make sentences sound natural; putting emphasis on the wrong words, speaking in monotone, and at one point exclaims "oh bloody hell" in the middle of a sentence that he mispronounces before going back and rereading it!

repetitive poor performance

badly edited. constant repetition. the whole thing would probably be a third as long if read once.
the performance was like listening to a news report , very matter of fact. making it very hard to listen too.
I gave up after multiple attempts to finish it
