Story
Before time as we know it began, gods and goddesses lived in the city of Asgard. Odin All Father crossed the Rainbow Bridge to walk among men in Midgard. Thor defended Asgard with his mighty hammer. Mischievous Loki was constantly getting into trouble with the other gods, and dragons and giants walked free. This collection of Norse sagas retold by author Padraic Colum gives us a sense of that magical time when the world was filled with powers and wonders we can hardly imagine.

Story
Paying attention to every detail, Amy Hughes collected many stories, myths, legends, and tales of the pagan Scandinavian rituals, gods, and heroes. Narrated in such a descriptive way, the stories will transfer you to a time long gone, and you’ll feel as if you’re been a witness to the Viking’s incredible history! But this book does not only present the mythological, abstract world of Scandinavian beliefs and religion.

Story
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Hear the original tales of Thor, Odin, and Loki, as the Vikings heard them long ago. Enjoy these ancient tales of tragedy, death, glory, and love, with all the gory and mystic details left out of the Hollywood versions. This collection, The Prose Edda, was the first time the Viking myths were assembled and written down in plain prose (before then, they existed only as oral poems). This abridged edition has only removed sections dealing with technical rules for writing poetry in the Viking style, but has included all the myths and legends.

Extremely Repetitive.
This repeats stories (like the creation of the world) an ungodly amount of times. i think by the time got half way through it, i had heard the story of the great ginnungagap 8 or 9 times.
it also loves to use the line 'be that as it may' constantly aswell.
it has good information in it but the construction and repetitions of stories makes it extremely difficult to be able to stand/follow.

Would not recommend
I found this audiobook pretty difficult to get through. I am highly interested in the subject and I usually fly through audiobooks, but I kept prolonging this one. I'm not sure if it was the narrator, who was very monotone, or if it was the author. Either way, there was a lot of repetition and I found it very hard to listen and keep track of what was going on. I would not recommend it.

Viking Mythology
I found this book to be a bore. I am of Danish and Scots ancestry, so am very interested in this subject. Personally I think this is the worst book I have listened to on this subject..
If you want to hear the author opinion on films or
Marvel comics then buy. If not save your money or credit and get a real book as there are many out there. This author doesn't even bother to use the English language but preferes to speak in slang. One of the worst books
I have ever purchased.

Oh bloody hell
The content of the book itself is great, it's a shame the guy reading it struggles to make sentences sound natural; putting emphasis on the wrong words, speaking in monotone, and at one point exclaims "oh bloody hell" in the middle of a sentence that he mispronounces before going back and rereading it!
