The aces of the New Republic have one final chance to defeat the darkness of Shadow Wing in this thrilling conclusion to the Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy!

In the wake of Yrica Quell’s shocking decision - and one of the fiercest battles of their lives - the remnants of Alphabet Squadron seek answers and closure across a galaxy whose old war scars are threatening to reopen.

Soran Keize has returned to the tip of Shadow Wing’s spear. Operation Cinder, the terrifying protocol of planetary extermination that began in the twilight of the Imperial era, burns throughout the galaxy. Shadow Wing is no longer wounded prey fleeing the hunters of the New Republic. With its leader, its strength has returned, and its Star Destroyers and TIE squadrons lurk in the darkness between stars, carrying out the fallen Emperor’s final edict of destruction - as well as another, stranger mission, one Keize has championed not for the dying Empire, but for its loyal soldiers.

Alphabet Squadron’s ships are as ramshackle and damaged as their spirits, but they’ve always had one another. Now, as they face the might of Keize’s reborn juggernaut, they aren’t sure they even have that. How do you catch a shadow? How do you kill it? And when you’re finally victorious, who pays the price?

Featured Article: The Definitive Guide to the Canonical Star Wars Timeline

The Star Wars timeline is complicated. With a recently reestablished canon, a tendency toward nonlinear storytelling, and an ongoing creative surge of new films, television series, books, and comics expanding the already massive universe, it can be incredibly difficult for even the most dedicated among us to keep the Star Wars timeline straight. This unofficial timeline explainer offers a brief illumination of each period and the stories set within.

Despite the Quell heavy plot, the trilogy wraps up well. The voice actress is much better in this part than the first two.

Better

the story in this was far more captivating than the previous 2 entries but it just couldn't stand up the the aftermath series. I really wish they had some characters from aftermath mingle in or interact with the characters in this series. I also feel like the relationship at the very end was tacked on even if it was somewhat foreboding. all in all I just hope that some of these characters from both the aftermath series and this series are realized in the live action star wars shows or movies at some point, he'll I'll even take a cameo from an animated series I just want to see them on screen.

The most interesting book out of the 3

So happy January Lavoy read this book! Sad but fulfilling conclusion to this trilogy. A series I am sure to revisit.

Love this series

Conclusion to the Alphabet Squadron Trilogy.

All three books feature plenty of big space battles, attacks on Imperial planets, betrayal, double jeopardy, double-crosses and so on.
It also features Hera Syndulla from Star Wars Rebels and Ahsoka as a Rebel (now New Republic General).

The story spans the years after The Battle Of Endor and features plenty of pilots, spies and gives you a good insight into the command structure of both opposing factions.

It can be a bit overwhelming to keep track of who is who.

I liked the subject, it deals with the reality of war and its aftermath from regular soldiers point of view

Great subject

The performance was outstanding and the story/series are among the best of the new canon. I'm a huge fan of the rogue squadron /wraith squadron series, and alphabet Squadron is right there with them!

Among the best

The whole series was great. The ending was very uninspired in my opinion. I also made the mistake of listening to the rogue squadron books before this trilogy, and rogue squadron blew it out of the water. Either way, the alphabet squadron books are pretty good, some plot points don’t make sense to me and some odd choices by the author but good.

Uninspired ending, good overall trilogy

The entire Alphabet Squadron trilogy is a riveting exciting and thought-provoking take on the Star Wars Galaxy. Freed explorers the moral and philosophical aspects of the war part of Star Wars while telling intriguing tales with compelling, complex characters in dynamic adventures. The whole trilogy works together as one and this installment beautifully brings it all together for a great finale.

A fantastic ending for an of outstanding trilogy!
