God made these dogs, but man made them vicious....

When successful author Jeremy Liden takes his friends up to his vacation cabin in the wilds of Wisconsin, he was hoping for a relaxing weekend. What he gets instead is a never-ending ordeal of snarling terror as he and his guests become trapped inside by an unrelenting menace that does not understand mercy.

By the time the night is through, not everyone is going to make it home in one piece.

Blood, gore, & more!

Where does Vicious rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's right up toward the top.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I'm as bad with character names as I am with real people's names, but the dogs were my favorite. Shea really gave voice to the two characters who can't actually speak.

Have you listened to any of Shea Taylor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first, but it won't be my last. Looking forward to more Shea.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!

Any additional comments?

I can't say I'm a fan of alternate endings outside of choose-your-own-adventure books; at least not in the original publication. That said, Shea handled both as if they were the one true ending.

Okay Story... Almost Rooted for The Dogs Though

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The characters seemed like the dumbest people in the world. I can't believe anyone would make the decisions/mistakes they did.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Meh, no strong reaction.

Was Vicious worth the listening time?

I can't say I regret listening but the story and narration was just "okay." Closer to two and a half stars.

Predictable. Not original.

Would you consider the audio edition of Vicious to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version.

Would you be willing to try another book from Bryan W. Alaspa? Why or why not?

I would try another book by this author in hopes that the plot would be more original.

What about Shea Taylor’s performance did you like?

Shea Taylor's performance held my attention and made each character's voice distinct and interesting. If I had been reading this book instead of listening I would probably have stopped after the first few chapters. The reading was well done which helped to give an ordinary book some depth and interest.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

None that I recall.

Any additional comments?

The story line was good and had much potential. The writing seemed a bit unpolished which probably contributed to the difficulty I had in being completely drawn into the story.
