Publisher's summary

The sequel to Heart of the Fae, where Beauty and the Beast meets Irish mythology

Once upon a time....

Heartache dogs the steps of Sorcha of Ui Neill. Although she is home with her family, she is unable to shake the memories of her time in Hy-brasil. She heals with a heavy heart, tells stories with melancholy words, and cannot forget the magic of the Otherworld. When an opportunity arises to return to her beloved Fae Prince, she makes a questionable deal. Dark magic, druidic curses, and a witch open a portal and send her tumbling into the middle of a war she must end for the sake of all who dwell in the Otherworld.

Saving the faeries will not be easy when she has become a woman they fear.

The once-banished king battles his way through the Otherworld, freeing the Lesser Fae with each swing of his sword. Each attack turns Eamonn into something far more beastly than before. Geodes multiply and hinder his movements, harden his heart, and crystalize his resolve.

Together, they face the King of the Seelie Fae and his golden army to end the war that will change the fate of the Otherworld forever.

Absolutely best read of the Summer!

Emma Hamm has done such an amazing job with wrapping up this amazing retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The character development is perfection. I feel like I truly know the characters inside and out. Their journey in the book is a bit terrifying in the best possible way. I definitely shed some tears and was on the edge of my seat. I truly was transported into Sorcha and Eamonn's world. They both are such strong characters but I love how powerful and strong willed Sorcha is instead of just being a timid after thought to the beast of a man Eamonn. The emotions are intense because you are right there with the characters in this journey. This is not the predictable retelling of a Disney classic! It's super exciting and unpredictable. This is simply thrilling and one of my favorite reads of the summer and probably the year! I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend this to anyone who loves fantasy, mystery, romance, strong characters, and wants to be transported to the Otherworld!
The narrator is the first I have come across that I think actually adds to the story. Don't get me wrong I love a lot of narrators but this was a match made in heaven. Her accent and voice for characters really added to the enjoyment and keeping the listener wrapped up in the story! I hope she narrates the rest of the Otherworld series.

Magical!

This was a magical story of love and loss and restoration. This second part of the story was often hard to read, yet beautiful and I couldn’t put it down. I can’t recommend it enough.
The narrator truly brings the story to life. I found myself listening and reading on my kindle (whispersync is amazing!) but I loved listening the most.

Awesome

This book is so much better than the last. The first two were great, but this one ended this series with an awesome ending.
The narrator did an excellent job, her accent perfect. She was clear and expressive. Great choice.

Good but the first was better

I had to see what happened in this great love story. There were a few moments when the main character was a bit annoying and naive but I feel others always do that to woman to show growth when they finally hey passed it. I love that she was the true hero even though I knew that in my heart

Very happy to accidentally stumble upon this book.

I had no idea what this book was about and have never heard anything from this author either. i was pleasantly surprised with what i got. The first book in the series did a really good job of setting up the world with out being too much about world building.

I'm excited for the next one

Satisfying end

This is only the end for Sorcha and Eamon, as the series continues with other couples.

I enjoyed this story, even though sometimes I could Sorcha’s passive ways to be a bit annoying. The way the story ended could have happened a lot sooner if she would have helped Eamon instead of the constant battle for peaceful talks.

But overall I enjoyed how the story played out and I’m so glad I finally listened to this story.

A Good Ending

I know I liked the first book better, but I'm glad that this one ended happily. Here are my initial thoughts without giving anything away:

1. I love this couple. They are so sweet together. I just wish Eammon had a better head on his shoulders when he isn't with Sorcha.
2. I'm kind of sad that Sorcha isn't just a human who somehow was able to sway all these fantastical creatures by her own charm and will.
3. There was a good deal of dues ex machinas here that I chose to ignore, but still kept note of. Most of them were there just to tie in some of the elements of the first novel but were done in a way where it felt a little rushed.
4. The plot sort of stalled for a good while. There wasn't really a big threat looming until the very, very end. Even then, everything sort of floated by.
5. A few characters were introduced that just popped up and then disappeared, even after they made a big impact on Sorcha and Eammon. I thought that was kind of odd.
6. The book was good. A clean, neat ending. Although, there were many ways it could have been fantastically amazing. Oh well. I'll take it!

I loved this story

What can I say? I’m a sucker for mythology and fairytale stories. This was such a well thought out story and book. Beautifully published and produced and the narrator was a perfect fit
