Classic story, but narrator needs help
The little girl lisping gets old. The narrator speaks in 4 second segments then pauses instead of actually reading and pausing at commas. If I didn't know and have read the book many times, I would give up on this purchase.

Worse than waterboarding
This book is so well written and the narration destroys it. 5 hours in and I could not take it anymore. I wouldn’t wish this audiobook on my worst enemies. It’s a waste of a credit. I am just going to buy the book and finish it myself.

Reader is horrific!! It has taught me read reviews first!
I wasted a credit. The reader is horrible. I really wish I had read the reviews first, as for the book the book is fabulous I’ve read Valley of the Dolls many times. As far as the movie I’ve seen the movie more times than I can count. I wish they had gotten a decent reader even a halfway decent reader would be better than this one!

Not today, not tomorrow.
This is my absolute favorite book, so I was excited to have a chance to listen to it. However, the narration just really hit me in all the wrong ways. I love Laverne Cox on any other platform so I was surprised at how poor the narration was. It eventually got so bad that I had to stop listening.

Great Book! Unusual performance.
The book is great but the female voices were distracting and ridiculous at times. If the narration didn’t require believable female voices I would have given it a 5. But it’s a 3 for me just on narration alone.

I loved this read..Lyon was an asshole..So was Neely..Jennifer,wow how sad..Anne got the short end all theway around..Anne was warned in the beginning about Lyin..oops I meant *LYON* .This would be an amazing do over...with a Black Cast.. Shonda Rhimes where are You Darling?🤷🏽♀️

the narrator's voice was to Southern for the story it lost character there the book itself is excellent so it's glad to listen to it I even checked to see if there was another narrator that was a disappointment to find no other great book bad performance

Wrong Narrator
I’m not even through the book yet and I’m not sure how much more I can take. Laverne Laverne Laverne. You need to learn how to do female voices girl! I’m enjoying the story but I think I’d enjoy it more if I read it. Laverne is just too annoying.

I have never been happy for an Audible book to end until this one. Ms. Cox may be a good narrator, but for a story like Valley of the Dolls.
