I found this audiobook at the right time! As I am going through my body changes in my life, I have been struggling how to deal and fix my body system. Author Anna Liotta explained everything step by step, what she had gone through and what we as women will face to. I like the part of the tools which are simple and science based. On top of that, narration is done by herself, and it was so touching to me. Her own voice explained everything what she had gone through and wanted to help us. To hear how busy she was (maybe still!) and how she got back herself was inspirational and encouraging. Wonderful book to listen.

This audiobook helped me understand why my body feels stuck in stress mode and what I can actually do about it. The explanations are clear and easy to follow, even if you’re not familiar with the science behind the nervous system. What I liked most is how practical it feels. The techniques are short and realistic, so I could try them during a busy day instead of setting aside extra time.

I started noticing small changes, like feeling less tense, thinking more clearly, and sleeping a bit better. It doesn’t push extreme routines or pressure you to do everything at once. Instead, it encourages small steps that add up over time. The tone feels grounded and reassuring, which made it easier to stay engaged.

By the end, I felt more aware of how my body responds to stress and more confident using simple tools to calm myself when things feel overwhelming.

When I first heard about this book I thought I'm never going to read that. Good thing I was wrong. In fact, as I listened to it (nicely read by the author), I found myself mentally saying things like "Wow, I never thought of that", "That makes so much sense" and "I wish this book had come out years ago!" One of the most profound ideas, for me at least, was her point that when we HUSTLE (overly) what we get complimented for isn't necessarily what our body needs. Uh-oh. That one hit home. I love how the book reveals what the clues are the body is telling us an how to literally decode them. That's important because the whole idea of self-regulation is new to me. I didn't really appreciate it. Now, I do. And I can see the value of it. But what really amazed me was the example of the 2-year old grandson. He had already learned to take deep breaths and regulate. That's amazing. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me. Five stars!
