Vagus Nerve: Guide to Understand and Overcome Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Inflammation, Brain Fog, and Improve Your Life

Have you ever heard about the vagus nerve? Would you like to learn how it works? Then keep reading!

The vagus nerve is so named because it “wanders” like a vagabond, sending out sensory fibers from your brain stem to your visceral organs.

The vagus nerve, the longest of the cranial nerves, controls your inner nerve center — the parasympathetic nervous system. And it oversees a vast range of crucial functions, communicating motor and sensory impulses to every organ in your body.

New research has revealed that it may also be the missing link to treating chronic inflammation, and the beginning of an exciting new field of treatment for serious, incurable diseases. In this audiobook, you will find all you need to know about the vagus nerve.

Here is what you will find in this audiobook:

  • What is the vagus nerve?
  • What is the importance of the vagus nerve?
  • In what way does the vagus nerve affect your life?
  • How can you control your vagus nerve?
  • And much more!

The vagus nerve plays a vital role in our overall health and wellbeing. Hacking your vagus nerve is really about adopting a few healthy practices that keep it stimulated and working optimally. There are more techniques we could dive into, but you will need a professional guide to help you!

Not what I expected, but was about the vagus nerve

Based on the full title and the numerous 5 star reviews, I thought this might be worth getting - not so much. Not sure how every reviewer gave it 5 stars - too good to be true? First, the tone of the narration seemed very authoritative but in one section, when the function of the vagus nerve regarding the brain and other functions of the body was discussed, the terms crap and pee were used in the explanation. Second, the audio version was broken into small sections lasting less than a minute to around 4 minutes each covering a specific topic. There was not nearly enough detail in each of those small sections. Lastly, was this book meant for people with advanced medical degree but the neglected to specify that fact? Except for the use of crap and pee as mentioned above and other pedestrian words and phrases, the terminology used was so obscure and convoluted I though it may be a joke or satire. An example of a sentence is as follows (excuse any misspelling since these terms are not common words). “ It has been demonstrated that parasympathetic sensory incitement by means of the vagus nerve leads to diminishment of genius incendiary cydocinds through the arrival of synapse essetialcoline.” I mean what in the world are they talking about? Like the year 2020 I do not recommend!!

not a layman text

I could have spent hours researching processes and vocabulary that I didn't quite get from context. I'm not positive but I think even the narrator had a hard time with this. some sentences seemed like nonsense and some would half made sense if connecting words were switched with similar sounding words. ex: is or in. even the last sentiment I found strange as he probably should have said "right" ear but instead said "correct" ear which seems pretty wrong since he was warning not to stimulate the right nerve to avoid interference with the heart function. Cytokines are spoken of but so many abbreviations are used I wasn't able to fully grasp the concepts. my takeaway is that we still haven't caught up to the Vedas. PTSD could be improved with better gut flora. I hope that stimulation technology does continue to advance.

Way to clinical and robotic sounding

Struggled and didn't finish, a waste of credits, to clinical and robotic sounding. Good book to sleep by.

awful, a waste of a credit

This book sounds like a pharmaceutical commercial, the reading is completely monotone. The language of the book itself sounds like a medical report. Each section is about only a minute or two and the whole thing is a big disappointment. I'm looking to get a credit returned.

Not what I was expecting...

This book sounds like it was written and broadcast in 1940. I have vasovagal syncope, so I thought it would be interesting to me. But I only got through about 7 minutes, and had to skip around just to maintain my interest for that long. I thought it might be a good self-help book, but it’s pretty much a dry anatomy textbook that reminds you that exercise is important to your health. (Thanks )

Unless you’re a scientist this book may not be for you. It’s super technical and not for the person looking for tip to relax their Vegus nerve.

Tedious and robotic

The text is hard work with huge over use of acronyms. The reader is incredibly robotic with a monotone that will put you to sleep, if only the sentences weren't so long that I found myself thinking 'breathe man'.

The text is repetitive alms boring rather than informative. It could be reduced to 5 minutes and it would be good.
