Publisher's summary

Prodigal son Lucas Dempsey reluctantly returns home to Anchor Island. Following his father’s heart attack, the whole Dempsey clan has to step up to keep the family restaurant afloat. For Lucas this means putting family first and his quest to make partner at his high-powered law firm on hold.

Tough-as-nails boat mechanic Sid Navarro is happy to trade her tools for an apron to help the Dempseys in their time of need - until she realizes she’ll be spending her days alongside Lucas, the man she’s loved from afar since high school. Playful verbal sparring leads to a smoldering but temporary summer fling that has them both falling hard within weeks.

When the time comes for Lucas to return to his life in the big city, a place where Sid would never fit in, the lovers face a challenge neither saw coming. Do they ignore their feelings and walk away, or sacrifice their dreams to follow their hearts?

Up to the Challenge is a sexy, fast-paced, romantic story of family, island life, and finding love in unexpected places.

Enjoyable...

And a good plot and I lived the voice over. I picrured this island in my mind and what it would be like to live there. Then to have such close relationships which is a rarity.

this book was better that the first in this series

This book developed the characters and had better dialog than the first. I almost didn't read it because the first was so awful. Now I can't wait to start book three.

Great addition to this w

Lucas and Sydney Anne! Small town boy becomes big city lawyer only to return home to help the family out when dad has a heart attack and can't work the family restaurant. He gets acquainted with a girl that had a BIG crush on him in high school although he never realized it! Read and see how it ends! Loving this series!

Love.

I struggled a bit with the ending of the first book in this series...so I was bit hesitant to continue. But boy am I glad I did! These two are ridiculously cute.

Laugh or Cry

My emotions were all over the place with this story. I had to control myself from busting out laughing at my desk at points and pretty sure other motorists determined I was a lunatic from laughing so hard driving down the road. The following day I was wiping my eyes of tears at my desk. This story was amazing and between listening at work and in the car and reading at home I finished it in just a little over 24 hrs.....no onto the next.

Unlikely pairing

I've been looking forward to Lucas' story and his HEA. But Sid? Really? Lucas is urbane and sophisticated. Sid is so purposefully inappropriate, the only thing missing is the tobacco spitting. And that's the thing. SIDS behavior is PURPOSEFULLY inappropriate. She could be kinder, less crude, etc and still fix boats. She just chooses not to. So no, I don't believe this pairing at all.
