Acerca de esta escucha
The second cycle of the internationally bestselling Skulduggery Pleasant series comes to a thrilling end. You are not ready…
The Faceless Ones have returned to our universe. The bad guys have won.
With the end of everything just days away – and no longer able to rely on Valkyrie Cain – Skulduggery must make allies of enemies if he's going to stand any chance of saving what's left of the world. And just when things are looking their bleakest, they manage to get even worse, with Omen Darkly suddenly having to step up when his brother, the Chosen One, falls.
There's a lot going on. Most of it is bad. Sorry about that.

I am so glad the series is put out of its misery
I'll say this much about Derek Landy: I admire his flexibility. Few of us possess the necessary contortionist skillset to reach that far up our own asses when we need a new set of plot devices or contrivances.
After finally botching a good start, I was thinking of doing a full list of breakdowns of all the incredibly cringe-worthy events of the book, but at this point, I am just thinking how the last 6 books are a 100 hours of my life I am never getting back, so I really am too emotionally exhausted from having my time wasted. Suffice to say, it has its own "Somehow, Palpatine returned!" moment, which is not even in the top 10 of its worst plot developments. Even worse is the finale that has this desperately clumsy attempt to tie everything together, put a single piece of string through every plothole, in what is soapiness going beyond anything else I can imagine exists in fantasy literature.
I sincerely recommend nobody reads this or any of the last six books as I have literally not had the finish of a series of books taint my perception of all others before them as hard as it is happening to me now. The title is suiting, as even *until the end* I was hoping for a positive surprise that never happened.
