Now a completed series!

An outbreak of "The Fever" has taken hold of Portland, Oregon, bringing the population to its knees. "The Fever" spreads and kills quickly, but the dead aren't staying dead.

When her neighbor, Jordan, saves her from an infected, Alissa joins him in his plan to escape the city, the zombies and the threat of a quarantine that will lock the living in with the undead.

What she doesn't tell him is that she has an illness of her own, one that plays tricks with her mind and makes her a dangerous companion. But Jordan has a secret as well, one that compels him to keep Alissa, a veritable stranger, safe at all costs.

As they fight for their lives and race for their freedom, they'll discover that what they truly need in order to survive is to stay together until the end.

I honestly could not finish this audible. I tried to get through the narration, but I couldn't do it. The story is promising, so I'll get the book and read it. The narration is bland and monotone. No differences in character voices and no emphasis on areas that are intense.

Good story, terrible narration

I would have given it a 3.5 maybe, because the narration did grate on my nerves too: most of the time it was monotonous and lacked emotion and the pacing is off. HOWEVER, you can still enjoy the book, just pretend it is your sister reading to you haha.

I read this book first before listening to the audible version and really loved it! At first I almost felt like the narration matched the bleak and complicated outlook of the main character. What a horrific predicament that she finds herself in at the end of the world. You struggle alongside Ali, trying to understand who to trust and how to trust her own instincts. The characters' fight for survival is palpable and the way they grow together, how they face their own horrors- together, shows that even at the end of the world there is still beauty to behold!

Excellent story, but loses points on narration

If you like zombie apocalypse you’ll get the same out of this one as all others, well read and realistic...for the most part. Nothing too ridiculous and very down to earth as far as available resources. Recommended

Same zombie apocalypse story bit well read

I like this genre and this story caught my interest right away and I found it interesting and will follow up with the rest of the series.

I read a negative review of the narrator, but personally I really liked her clear cadence because I felt as if she were simply reading the story to me in an easy to follow manner so I was able to imagine the characters myself.

Great addition to this Genre

The story does have potential, but the narration wasn't great. there was not enough change of voice between the characters which gets confusing. I gave up after chapter 5.

Narrator Sucks
