Untamed by A.G Howard book audio review

Would you listen to Untamed again? Why?

Yes i would listen to the book again, i have to say i did enjoy it.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked how the reader was able to separate each characters voice throughout the story.

What does Rebecca Gibel bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voicing of different characters, giving me ideas of what they might have sounded like in real life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I can't really say, without spoiling any parts of the book.

Any additional comments?

Overall the audio book was great, but the only downside was Morpheus's voice. It was NOTHING like i expected, and actually kinda sounded like Mel B. But i have to give the reader some credit for voicing all the characters on her own.

Nice Extra Wrap up to the story

If you could sum up Untamed in three words, what would they be?

Short, fun, extras

What was one of the most memorable moments of Untamed?

Six Impossible Things.” This is a novella about Alyssa being an old woman and making the journey back to Wonderland. I really liked how this went through three memories that Alyssa had with Jeb and then three memories that Alyssa had with Morpheus. Then of course you get to read about Alyssa having her and Morpheus dream child.

Which character – as performed by Rebecca Gibel – was your favorite?

Alyssa

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wanted to listen to it in all one setting but unfortunately because of life I was unable to do so.

Any additional comments?

“Untamed” by A. G. Howard was a sweet tribute to the beloved characters that we have fallen in love with. I fell in love with the “Splintered” series right away. I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan and this seemed like such a perfect fit for me.

I’ve missed these characters since I finished “Ensnared.” It was nice to get to revisit each of them again. I feel like “Untamed” was written specifically for the fans. These are for the ones that want just that little bit more of the world and characters that Howard created.

“Untamed” is three novellas. “The Boy in the Web,” which is a look at Alyssa’s parents. The second novella is “Moth in the Mirror,” where Morpheus is seeing things from Jeb’s side of the story on events that happened in “Splintered.” Last but not least we have “Six Impossible Things.” This is a novella about Alyssa being an old woman and making the journey back to Wonderland. I really liked how this went through three memories that Alyssa had with Jeb and then three memories that Alyssa had with Morpheus. Then of course you get to read about Alyssa having her and Morpheus dream child.

I think “Untamed” was a good ending to the series. I know there were a lot of expectations of whether or not this was going to be all about Jeb or Morpheus and how it was going to go. I think that A. G. Howard did a good job with it. I liked the amount of information that I was given because it still leaves room for imagination on my part.

untamed

overall this wasn't my favorite book in the trilogy but it was defiantly worth a read. I am so sad to have finished the books. it has a satisfying ending and the narrator for all the books was amazing 👏

**NO SPOILERS** maybe one..

First off, this book was free for me to listen to on audible, and I loved the idea of AIW themed. if I dont like a book I just won't finish it or leave a review, so this one kept me intrigued enough to get me through the whole series.

To start the audio was, for the most part, okay. There were times when I wasn't sure who exactly was talking back and forth, and other times where either the sound quality or volume would change enough to tell where the narrator took breaks or edits. Nothing to keep you from listening.

Now for the story, overall, I enjoyed it. I did feel lost on some scenes where I would be confused as to how we got to a certain point or action in the book. I felt as if a lot of the book was cut or edited to just have it all thrown back at you after the fact. if those scenes were even shortened just a little to give a taste of what happened, it would of helped, instead your left not knowing until every missing scene is thrown at you after its happened sometime later. (hard to explain without spoilers)

the description of the book was good, the parts where it wasn't the most descriptive i put it together myself in my own mind thanks to what the author gave. The story was a nice spinoff to AIW so it helped my inspiration of what I saw.
Don't let my review scare you off, It was a good series overall, I might even re listen again to better understand what I didn't get before. now for the spoiler...

**SPOILER**kind of..
as for the protagonist I understand she was 16 and with that comes 16 year old thoughts and decisions...so I didn't mind the character at her younger age... even with the multiple bad decisions.
when she aged though, she still seemed to have that same teenage mindset, though that could just be the hidden gem of wonderland.
The fact that she got to have her cake and eat it too for the two men in her life, I'm not sure what more to say here. it was definitely different from what I'm used to reading in books. It could be my own biased opinion, but It didn't sit well with me. I just felt pity for Jeb honestly.

good but not great

I love this serious. however a lot of this book was talking about the moms perspective. I wish it was all just a continuation of the main story instead

Great ending for series

Once again, the narrator did a wonderful job reading the story, the different voices she used. I really felt that I was in Wonderland with all the characters.

I appreciated the chapters that explained situations from the other novels. The ending we all wanted to read. The tears I shed. It was a wonderful take on the story of Alice in Wonderland.

I truly recommend this series for anyone interested in the fantastical and whimsical.
