He don’t need no stinkin’ badge

As a young boy all Lindon wanted was a badge. It was a rite of passage for all the youth in his village. The badge symbolized one’s ability and, more importantly, one’s worth to the clan.
Sadly, we soon learn that young Lindon doesn’t get any badge at all, he is “Unsouled. “ It is a brand Lindon will be forced to wear his entire youth, ridiculed and shamed by other members of his village; but Lindon refuses to accept his fate. With force of will, and sheer cunning, he is determined to overcome his shortcomings.
Through the first four books we learn just how small Lindon’s world really is, a mere cradle in the vastness of the universe, and he soon discovers that there are other possible destinies that await him if he has the courage to pursue them; possibilities that will test his tenacity but also will allow him to grow beyond his wildest imagination.
“Unsouled” is an exciting start to a really epic series and a great entertaining experience. I am looking forward to the next release.

Love this type of story and i've already listened to the first 4 and I can not wait for the next book to be narrated. The narrator does and amazing job and the story is simply fantastic.

Very cool

Loved this book. Large fantasy fan but the road this one takes is refreshing. Just when you think you've got the general arc of the storyline pegged, the scope and sheer scale of the true shape of the world is mind bending. 5/5 recommended

Exceptional Story, entertaining performance

Let me start by saying I can't recommend this story/series strongly enough.

Great, fast paced story and a very good performance. I've read the story multiple times and purchased the audio book as soon as it was available. As of the time I am writing this I'm only a couple of hours into the audio book but I am pleasantly surprised with the performance.

This is the first time I have heard this narrator and he does an excellent job with character voices and uses the appropriate amount of emphasis at the appropriate time. So far there have been no awkward pauses, heavy breathing into the microphone etc. The reason I gave the performance 4 stars instead of 5 is because there were times when I thought I was listening to Casey Kasem. Not a big deal, just me being critical of a new (to me) narrator.

After listening to the entire audio book I changed my performance rating to 5 stars. Travis really does an outstanding job of building character profiles. On top of that his performance blends into the story vs becoming a focus of the story. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Surprising Shining Star

I hadn't heard about this book but listened to it on a reccomendation from the end of Andrew Rowe's On The Shoulders of Titans. I am blown away. This must be up in my top 3 ongoing fantasy series right with Stormlight Archive and Arcane Ascension. I am quite excited to read more!

A Beautiful Tale

The two stories in wildly different scales intertwined perfectly. I need more of this series soon, thank goodness the second book was out when I picked this up.

This is a step above most cultivator novels.

Sucked in Instantly

I was listening to this on a road trip with my girlfriend and got in a little trouble because I couldn't stop listening to it. Cradle reminds me of the works of Brandon Sanderson, Brent Weeks, and Andrew Rowe. The writing is very strait forward and they both have similiar approaches to world building\magic systems. There is only one point of view character which helps me with immersion in audio book form.

Incredibly creative

Marvelous story, lots of unique twists and world-building. Great characters. I love a good underdog story, and this is the epitome of that trope. Really excellent. I highly recommend it.
