Unnatural narrator

Not sure if I liked the story because the narration kept getting in the way. I mostly admire narrators who come in varying degrees of quality but this time I really felt myself being repelled from the story by the very awful voices this narrator affected, especially the voice for Wimsey and the frequently strange emphases she chose to apply to the text. Sometimes I couldn’t tell if Dorothy was overboard in some dialogue or it was just being strangely interpreted by Jane McDowell. In any case I could not wait for the ordeal to be over and I suspect that I missed out on enjoying an above average mystery. But as I said I’m not really sure. I hope there is another audio book by a different narrator.
