Publisher's summary
A thrilling adventure where a boy's bond with a hellhound holds the key to preventing a demon's cataclysmic plans.
Meet Alex, an ordinary high schooler targeted by the school bully, Murk. But what starts as typical teenage meanness escalates into something far more ominous after Alex stumbles upon a battered dog abandoned by Murk and his gang. It doesn’t take long for Alex to learn that the dog, Shade, is no ordinary canine–he’s extraordinary, possessing powers beyond imagination.
As Alex and Shade form an unbreakable telepathic bond, their fates become entwined with forces beyond their comprehension. Enter Agathokakologos, a demonic entity seeking the missing hellhound. From the shadows, he observes Alex and Shade, patiently awaiting the unfolding of a demonic conflict that Alex unwittingly becomes a part of.
The plot thickens as Alex convinces his friends, Luis and Jaime, to join the quest against Murk and unveil Shade's extraordinary abilities.
When Agathokakologos, or Aggie, unveils a shocking truth, the friends grapple with a newfound reality and try to decipher why Alex feels an inexplicable urge to rectify the chaos.
Can this trio of high schoolers concoct a daring plan to vanquish Murk, liberate Shade, rescue the world, and emerge unscathed? The stakes are high, and secrets unravel as they navigate a world teeming with danger and mystery. What is Alex concealing from his friends, and how will it impact their perilous journey?
Embark on an epic adventure of friendship, courage, and the supernatural in this spellbinding novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Are you ready to unlock the secrets that could change everything?

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.
