A stirring account of Christianity's power for good

In a day when Christians are often attacked for their beliefs, professor and speaker Jeremiah Johnston offers an inspiring look at the positive influence of Christianity, both historically and today. In Unimaginable, you'll discover the far-reaching ways that Christianity is good for the world - and has been since the first century AD - including:

  • How the plights of women and children in society were forever changed by Jesus
  • Why democracy and our education and legal systems owe much to Christianity
  • How early believers demonstrated the inherent value of human life by caring for the sick, handicapped, and dying
  • How Christians today are extending God's kingdom through charities, social justice efforts, and other profound ways

Like It's a Wonderful Life, the classic film that showed George Bailey how different Bedford Falls would be without his presence, Unimaginable guides listeners through the halls of history to see how Jesus' teachings dramatically changed the world and continue to be the most powerful force for good today. This provocative and enlightening book is sure to encourage believers and challenge doubters.

A Must Read

Any thinking person who is the least bit aware of world history knows the thesis of this book. Clearly Western civilization has led the world in developing a civilized world - raising the status of all persons and ending the slave trade. Read it!

A Book for Everyone

This is a most intriguing and well grounded proposition. Studying Scripture in the Old Testament, coupled with what I know of world history, the authur makes clear God's plan of redemption for mankind. Truly an 'unimaginable' world without the introduction of His Son into humanity. Excellent book! And strong challenge to us all!

Great historical evaluation of Christianity

Unimaginable is a very good and balanced evaluation of the historical impact that the Christian church has had a bond the last two thousand years. the writing style of the author is similar to that of Aaron Davis in his best selling book Quantum Christianity.

Powerful and thought provoking

This is a fantastic book for both Christians and non-Christians alike. It is well researched and really gives a thought provoking view of what the world would be like today without Christianity.

ILLUMINATING

Like getting the cliff notes on where theology and world history intersect -and what’s at stake -not only for our present day -but also our immediate future. It only takes one generation to forget.
