Publisher's Summary

The kiss lasted for a second, and she was struggling with all she had to not melt into it. She pushed him gently away, reminding him that he had Ashley.

"She's just there for the sex. I can't make you be with an empty wreck like me. I respect you too much to allow that to happen. You being with me is the worst thing you could do, and so just one kiss and you being here like this with me is more than I can ask for. I respect you too much to do anything else," he uttered.

"That's the worst thing you could have said," she stood up, moving toward the fence rapidly. "And so disrespectful! You don't respect me! You're toying with me!" she said, sobbing, clumsily climbing over the fence, and falling gracelessly onto the other side.

She straightened up quickly and, without looking back, she ran toward Ashley's house.

.A lot more realistic than expected

I love romance in all forms, but I am usually not a big fan of military romance, mainly because I find that it either has to be completely unbelievable or so realistically dark that I get super depressed listening. However, I found that this skated that razor's edge and made for an awesomely dark listen without a feeling like I just finished "The Grapes of Wrath" while sitting next to a Dementor. In the beginning,I was still unsure but when the book got going I was hooked..The PTSD issues were scary and upsetting but they needed to be for people who don't know anyone who suffers i thought that adding that to this book created a whole new dimension which made me like it more Theresa Stephens was a good narrator and captured the highs and lows very well and really helped to bring the emotions of the book out in this audio version.I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher. As always this is my honest opinion

Sadly, I'm Not a Fan of This One :-(

-

This was a romance (of sorts) with what I felt was an irresponsible and insulting dismissal of those who have served in the military, in my opinion.

In summary this is about a military man who's been on numerous deployments and his relationships with a sex craved bimbo & a deep thinking, caring woman. Fortunately, that is the extent of the characters relationship/physical.

I am really disappointed as I have listened to several stories by Kathleen Hope and liked them a lot. Hopefully, this is just a one-off.

Teresa Stevens narration is solid and a strong 3.5 stars.

3 star military romance

I like this audiobook, but I don't love this audiobook. It's pretty good. The storyline made me excited because I'm a sucker for military romances, but this just didn't completely do it for me. It was kind of dark with it's descriptions of PTSD episodes, which are expected with these types of books, but that wasn't really the issue. The narration was a big flat and didn't make it totally possible to connect with the characters. At least for me. I'd say I'd probably give this a read vs a listen.

Can't recommend this one

Any additional comments?

I was looking forward to this book. Unfortunately it just didn't live up to my expectations. I have listened to several other books by Kathleen Hope that I really enjoyed however this story was a let down, it was not well written, it felt choppy, didn't flow well and didn't hold my attention. It's not a story I would listen to again or recommend.

Two friends are both interested in the same man but for different reasons. One just physical and one for the lifetime relationship. More time was spent on the first no meaning relationship than the important, deeper and lasting one. The characters never really developed, they were just there.

A Sargent and a Colonel would not have the type of conversation they had in this story. A Colonel asks, a Sargent does without question.

I have listened to several books that Theresa Stephens has narrated which I enjoyed. I have to say the narration for this story seemed a bit monotone at times and didn't flow as smoothly as the other books I have listened to. I'm not sure if the choppy writing had an effect on the narration or if Theresa just wasn't the right narrator. She has a pleasant voice and the narration was clearly spoken. She has some good character voices. Her voice for Ashley although it fit the way the character was written(shallow) just grated on me. As I said before I have enjoyed other books she has narrated and will listen to her again in the future.

It doesn't make sense to read the table of contents in the beginning of the book. No one is going to remember the titles to the chapters. They need to be read at the beginning of the chapter.

on the fence

I was gifted this audio ARC for a honest and unbiased review from the author/narrator
Kathleen Hope writes this story of two female friends who are after 1 military man who ends up with PTSD.
I'm on the fence about this book. Can't say I don't like it but I can't say I like it.
Theresa Stephens is the narrator and I don't think this book was for her. She is monotone in this book and also she had zero inflection in her voice and it made it so hard to connect with the characters.
I believe I would rather read this book instead of listening.

Meh

This story fell flat for me. The narrator didn't help. Also the audio errors just made this unlistenable for me.

Military short story

What made the experience of listening to Uniformed Love Triangle the most enjoyable?

I normally avoid military stories but I wanted to give this one a try. The stories about two friends after the same guy. Ashley is interested in the sex and jade a relationship. The story does tell of ptsd and the battles a soldier faces with ptsd. The storyline is ok. The narrTor did a great job.

Military Romance

Any additional comments?

Jade and Ashley are best friends and both are interested in the same military man, Devon. Ashley's relationship with him is purely physical, while Jade wants much more. Who will he choose?

Although Uniformed Love Triangle deals with serious issues like PTSD, it is a romance at heart. Devon's choice was pretty obvious, given that Ashley was so shallow. The narration was okay but I didn't think it was necessary to list the chapters. Overall I liked Uniformed Love Triangle and would recommend it.

A wonderful ending!

This is mostly a fun and sweet story, but it does deal with war and PTSD which are not light topics.

To be honest I didn't read the blurb or any of the reviews for this one before reading it, I saw it was by Kathleen Hope so I wanted it. So it wasn't quite what I was expecting ( a menage between two soldiers and one woman) but the story that I got was still good (although not kinky *sigh*).

I did notice that the editing could have been better, a couple of times I noticed repeated uses of a word or similar words where it didn't add anything to the story and there's one statement that directly contradicts what was said a couple of chapters earlier. While not too obvious it did cause me to give this 4 stars instead of 5 since I found it impossible to ignore.

I have to say I didn't really like Ashley, I found her a little shallow. Jade is a much more rounded character, although some of the things she said left me thinking 'no one, and I mean NO ONE would say that out loud, think it... maybe, but say it? No!', and she comes off as more than a little desperate.

The character voices were a bit hit and miss. The main characters were fine, but anyone with an accent didn't sound believable for me. The flow was also off, or maybe the phrasing and it seemed to get worse towards the end. I didn't feel like any of the emotions of the story of characters came through in the narration. I recommend listening to the sample before buying.

I'm not sure I'd listen to it again but I would read it again and I's still get another Kathleen Hope just because of who the author is.

Triangle Review....

Not very well written. Weird start to book by narrating the table of contents. Voiceover pretty stilted and staccato'd.
