When you find an actual unicorn mate instead a figurative one

I loved Rez and Heather’s story - falling in love while preparing to save the world. This is the second book in this series. It is an exciting fast paced story full of love, danger, drama, silliness, and some mystery. Plus there is a hot protective magical unicorn. The heroine found a “unicorn” to love. Heather works at a Christmas shop and when a customer tries to buy a beautiful unicorn Christmas ornament made of glass she knows instinctively that she has to have it. It is hers. Rez is a magic fae unicorn warrior from a parallel dimension who is released from the ornament when Heather kisses it. Rez and Heather must bond with each other in order to help save this world. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, end of the world scenarios, paranormal creatures, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, plot twists, mystical coincidences, snark, and laughs. It also includes witty dialogue, characters with depth, and an engaging storyline. Now I am off to read the next book and read about the next shieldmate.

Travis Baldree and Stephanie Németh-Parker did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.
