Publisher's Summary

It began with the mysterious disappearance of Harriet Hollingsworth - Eastport, Maine's, snoopiest resident. Everyone is convinced the old busybody bolted out of town to escape her creditor - everyone except Jake and her best friend, Ellie, who suspect otherwise. But they'll need to come up with proof more sinister than a pair of abandoned binoculars.

Just as Jake starts poking around for clues, things take a troubling turn for the worse. A suspicious accident nearly kills her teenaged son, Sam, and her husband, Wade, just misses getting his head blown off. Jake is prepared to attribute these incidents to a spate of bad luck - until another accident leaves a visitor to Eastport unmistakably dead.

Another excellent addition to a great series

This is a well written story with great characters. Although I recommend reading the entire series in order, it is possible to read them out of order. Each book is capable of standing alone. The story is well plotted with the right amount of suspense. Despite murder most foul, this book manages to keep a light tone and have a happy ending.

Best One Yet

This is by far my favorite in this series at this point. I've felt every emotion listening to it and knowing the characters as well as I do from the prior books.

Enjoyable But Improbable

I like this series, I don’t love it, but they’re enjoyable enough. It’s just that sometimes the story line is SO Ridiculous! The reveal in this one (no spoilers) is so drawn out and annoying.

She change s details too, like the unexplained change of the last name of her son’s best friend—what??? Anyway. Get them, just hold your breath through the ridiculous parts.

Favorite, so far!

Would you consider the audio edition of Unhinged to be better than the print version?

This was my favorite so far. The character development along with the interweaving plots had me dreading the end of the book...while excited to listen to the next one. Loved it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Elly, her character gives a nice balance to Jacobia's full-bodied personality.

What does Lindsay Ellison bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Listening to a voice bonds you to the story. It creates a sense of kinship with the characters, especially as you work through a series. The only problem comes when the same narrator pops up in another series... that's hard to adjust to.
