Publisher's summary

The world concepts and attitudes about homosexuality have changed significantly in recent decades. Most of society and the medical profession now view it as an acceptable alternate lifestyle; a biologically determined, permanent orientation, rather that learned, experiential, and often changeable choice. The concept of homosexuality as a permanent orientation is, however, without scientific validation; the notion is entirely politically grounded. One effect of this new view has been to understate the medical and societal harm produced by the promiscuous sexual practices typically associated with homosexuality. You should understand when you use harassment, it does affect the homosexual individual by making him or her either feel stressed, afraid of being open with his sexual orientation, or even suicidal. There are all different types of harassment that confront homosexuals, but all result in psychological abuse against the individual, and it is important to note that the reason that homosexuals have psychological troubles is not because of their being homosexual, but, rather, the harassment to which they are subjected.

Good intro to the topic

Any additional comments?

A high level overview of the dynamics of homosexuality, It would make a great prelude to an in-depth analysis of the topics covered in the book, which would have been more enjoyable, especially the topics of social norms which would have benefited from a great historical context.

The story telling was good, but did stumble a few times. Overall they was enthused and did a great job.

Informative

This is a short quick narrative about homosexuality. I thought I knew a good chunk about it, but after listening to this book—I was wrong! I learned so much more! It was short and informative—a great introduction to the topic.
