Publisher's summary

Guadalupe, New Mexico, is usually a pretty quiet town. That is until everything starts going to hell with a series of bizarre murders. Not to mention, a demon gives birth at a park. A boy disappears in the middle of a swimming pool. Rattlesnakes invade the town. Asked by his best friend the sheriff to assist in the investigation, Prosecutor Matthew Riley suspects a high-end resort development is at the heart of the crimes. But he also discovers a conspiracy of the living has opened the door for an ancient evil seeking revenge for old and new betrayals that threaten his own family.

Detective Horror

Supernatural elements driving a detective investigation. There's hardly anything original here and the story doesn't break grounds, but overall can be a fairly enjoyable passtime.

A clearly-voiced narration if a bit cartoonish at times, especially when delivering few of the secondary characters' voices.

Thank goodness not another cookie cutter story.

The story is unique with it's own imaginative lore. I really enjoyed the whole story all the way through. The characters were dynamic, with great moments of tension. I won't give spoilers but this is a great no cookie cutter story. I will be looking for more from this author

A Real Good Suspense Novel

This was a very good listen/read and kept my interest all the way through. I have never before read anything from this author and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Narrator does a good job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.

Horror

Set it Guadalupe, New Mexico. The book starts with the birth of a demon and keeps building from there. Certain things would happen "Under the Blood Moon". It has elements of friendship and family - not just horror. You just want to keep listening to know what happens next.

The narrator did an excellent job and really brought the characters and world to life. I loved how he used different voices and made the story exciting. I didn't like the slight pause every few words in a sentence, but you can check that out for yourself in the sample. The pauses could be because the original text is full of commas, so I won't hold that against the performance. It WAS a performance not just someone reading off a page

I requested and received a copy of this book to provide a review. No obligation was made to have that review be positive or negative - it's my honest opinion.

A fun romp

I really enjoyed the 'slice of life' moments as the characters interacted with each other. The authors does well with this and it feels authentic and helps keep the story moving along at a good clip. if it were a movie, I'd be earing popcorn waiting for the next tidbit to be revealed. it's a perfect quick Halloween.

The narrator did a great job giving each characters their own voice

A nice horror comedy for the fall!

A little too gory

First I admit I am not a horror fan. The descriptions were a bit too gross for my taste. But considering the genre I suppose it was just right.

the writing seemed very... simple

the narrator definitely didn't help, but the writing seems more like a person having their first attempt to write a book. the language was very simple and the metaphors or even simple descriptors lacked imagination. that being said. I still dream of publishing a book myself one day. so respect to anyone that can finalize a book enough to be happy with it themselves.

Horrifying Tale

Under the Blood Moon is a well written horrifying tale that will give you chills down your spine. The characters are well developed and some are likeable while others are not the same way it is in real life. The storyline may feather out in different ways but it all comes back to good vs evil and who will be the victor. I love how the author used different scenarios to portray the evil that is creeping through this small town. If you like to be scared I highly recommend this book to you if you are over 18.
I received this book for free upon my request but it has no bearing on my honest unbiased review that I am voluntarily leaving of my own volition.

An interesting tale with great narration.

It's hard to point fingers without having three fingers pointing back at you. Love, loss and loyalty with an extra helping of V for Vendetta. Get yourself a copy of this cautionary tale.
